Quote, unquote
?Their freshman point guard Keifer Sykes is certainly a candidate for (league) Newcomer of the Year. He?s played very, very well here of late, and Alec Brown, in the middle, provides problems.? ? WSU coach Billy Donlon.

UWGB update: The Phoenix is looking for its first road win of the season after starting 0-11 away from the Resch Center. Dating to last season, it has lost 13 straight on the road. It hasn't won a road game in almost a year. The last one came on Feb. 24, 2011 at Youngstown State. ? Senior forward Jarvis Williams, who hasn't played since Dec. 3 because of a stress fracture in his right foot, is scheduled to undergo an exam next week to determine whether he can return this season. A walking boot didn't help heal the injury, so Williams has been on crutches the last two weeks. "It doesn't look like (he will play this season)," Wardle said. It's also unclear whether Williams will apply for a redshirt year, allowing him to play next season. He's scheduled to graduate this spring. "I haven't thought enough about that because I was still hoping he could help us this year," Wardle said.

WSU update: The Raiders are coming off consecutive road losses at Valparaiso (63-54) and at Butler (64-53) last week. They have lost five of their last seven games. Their victories in that stretch came against the bottom two teams in the Horizon League, UIC and Loyola. ? Wright State is 8-5 at home, including 4-2 in home conference games. ? The Raiders rank ninth out of 10 teams in the league in scoring (57.9 ppg) and 10th in field goal percentage (.389). They also are last in field goal percentage defense (.451). ? Junior guard Julius Mays, a transfer from N.C. State, ranks fifth in the league in scoring (14.4 ppg), one spot ahead of UWGB's Alec Brown (13.9 ppg). Mays, who had 15 points in the Jan. 14 game against UWGB, is Wright State's only double-figures scorer. In conference games, he's the Horizon League's top scorer (16.9 ppg).
