Vice officers executed a warrant to break up an alleged illegal gambling
operation at a Shavano Park home owned by a San Antonio poker champion. Officers
were inside the house taking an inventory Tuesday night. Police said they have a
warrant to seize everything, including the owner's cars.

Police would not confirm who owned the home. However, Bexar County Appraisal
District records show the home is owned by a Richard Lee.

A man identifying himself as Lee's lawyer confirmed the home's owner is the same
Richard Lee who placed 6th at the World Series of Poker and won nearly $3
million a few weeks ago.

"Our vice detectives have been conducting a comprehensive investigation where
they believe proceeds from illegal gambling have bought a lot of items in this
house," police spokesman Joe Rios told WOAI. "Anytime we have that type of
investigation that leads us to believe there's illegal property in the house we
have authority to seize it. We're taking all the vehicles and all the property
inside the house."

No one was arrested, Rios said, "although now that we have found the evidence,
we can move forward."

"It's basically what we refer to as a bookie, taking bets online and then
placing those bets. He's doing that illegally here in San Antonio - not in
Vegas," said Rios.

Rios confirmed that the home has been under investigation for months. He says
the during the search police found multiple gambling receipts.

"We're talking payouts well over $500,000," said Rios. "It was a pretty
well-oiled machine they were running out here."
