never posted in stocks. don't own any that weren't bequeathed, but saw the headline and here's my 2 cents.

sirius by a landslide. howard stern effect and all, for the last 2 quarters, at least according to sirius reporting and again that could be biased, but don't think they could lie, there new subscriptions are way on the increase, while xm is decreasing steadily.

sirius has every major sport including nfl with the exception of mlb.

howard stern subscribers all bought or are buying receivers. i never was a huge fan, but have to admit listening to him now and he can be funny.

i think xm is dying and sirius is way on the rise, but again, not sure how this effects stock quotes and such.

I don't think there is an immediate need to buy either one. I agree with bdb that Sirius will probably be the long-term winner due to content. The problem right now, though, is that they are spending more in acquisition per new client than the client is bringing in.

If you don't mind having dead money for a little while, I think Sirius can't get much cheaper but you never know. I have not run the actual numbers in a while, but I think Sirius' future is brighter.

Bryanz would not treat stocks like these as long term buys 5yrs., they are more like short term trading stocks.

in five years what effect will wireless internet, digital radio, and ipod that will be able to hold 10,000 or by then 100,000 of your favourite albums....

also look at the debt of these companies (bonds), sometimes they can provide a good return, and if everything blows up, remember bond holders come before equity. used to own debt of XM over a year ago, was a good trade.

the main reason do not care for these stocks now, is how much they have paid for their programming ie. Howard stern, sports, ect.

also if I want NHL, baseball it will only be on XM, where NBA, NFL on Sirius. if I pay for radio expect to get all of the sports.

besides paying to much for the programming main concern, believe the estimates of the growth of how many people will pay for radio is to high...time will tell.

may be a buy that they have corrected not sure as no longer follow the stocks.

thanks
