I am the type of person who normally likes dogs but the Yanks seem like a lead pipe cinch here. If you are going to lay that chalk (and I might still) I move to make two suggestions.

1) Don't load up the boat too much if you are playing "to win". It is just not wise to put a gigantic percentage of your bankroll on any play, especailly a baseball game.

2) Don't go buck wild with parlays. Remember, parlays do NOTHING to your odds. They are a figment of your imagination. If the yanks are -250, you are still paying -250 on that game no matter how many teams you parlay it with. Same thing goes for other plays. If you like Oakland -165, fine. But don't play Oakland in a parlay at +125 just because you would like Oakland if they were +125 by themselves.

What I think NICK is saying, PARLAYS in baseball use the MONEYLINE, as opposed to 13:5 for 2 teams, 6-1 on 3, etc... so if you put $50 on YANKS -250 and OAKLAND -160, your payoff is $63 if BOTH win. You're still laying -250 on NYY, and -160 on OAK. GRANTED, you didn't have to lay out $123 or whatever you would have to make $30 on each, but you also don't lose $50 if they split.

PARLAYS are great when you win ALL, but as RAYMOND has mentioned, play the games straight FIRST, then if you want, parlay them together.

If I can add my 2 cents here..

I remember that thread about parlays 1 or 2 weeks ago...

It's a fact: you don't add any "value" by parlaying. The odds remain the same. It's just some sort of multiple (and cumulative) "If Bets" or "Reverses". You can take advantage of parlays if you are:

1)Parlaying both the side and the total of a same game. In bases, that would be the Road team with the OVER, or the Home team with the UNDER. But you have to like both the Road team and the OVER (the Home team and the UNDER) to do this. Don't blindfully parlay the side and total just for the fun of it.

2)A newcomer or a "new system" tester. This might sound a bit stupid at first sight but I don't think it is that much. You see, if you're testing some new "systems" or new "trends" or whatever it is, it might be a good idea to over-test it using parlays, that way you minimize the possible losses. You use your winnings on game 1 to bet on game 2 IF the system seems to work good for you (that is IF your first selection was good). But the main idea of using this concept really is to minimize the losses, not to maximize the wins. You have to keep that in mind.
