NEW YORK (AP) -- The New York Yankees recalled left-hander Randy Keisler from Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday night.
Keisler who struck out 18 in an International League game June 2, will start against the Montreal Expos on Thursday.
Keisler was with the Yankees for seven days earlier this season. criticizing both the Yankees and manager Joe Torre when he was sent down to Columbus on April 18. He went 0-1 with a 8.59 ERA in two appearances with the Yankees.
To clear a roster spot for Keisler, the Yankees optioned right-hander Brandon Knight to Columbus. Knight was 0-0 in two relief appearances for the Yankees and had a 10.80 ERA.
