I just put in my line-up and thought the obvious choice would be to start Favre at Carolina. My other QB is Leftwich. He's playing at Buffy.

Favre?

TIA

I am sure this has been asked before, but I have the #1 pick in my draft tomorrow night. Do I take Holmes or Tomlinson? 12 team league. Won't get to pick again until pick # 23 & 24.

Favre had more TDs than any QB in the NFL last year.. start him

Senor,

Start Bulger.. The Cards are in turmoil right now.. and i saw that the Seahags are looking to concentrate on Alexander and the running game this year.

Had Hasselcrack last year.. Consistent, good yardage totals, but every time they get in the redzone, the ball is going to Alexander. Hasselcrack didnt have many TDs..
I wouldnt take him again..

Hope this helps

Take Holmes... KC has the best O line in the league.. where as the Chargers are going to continue to struggle....

LT is great but take the safe play and grab Holmes.. Also, in my opinion you shouldnt take a top reciever or QB until you get another RB... Take a RB with 23 or 24.. Most of the top backs will be gone.. but you should be able to nab Westbrook, D. Davis, S. Davis, Tikki, Henry, one of them has to be left.. grab the best you can..

I also concentrated on RB's 1st. Got Shaun Alexander(I was the 6th pick in a 12 team league) then I got Domanick Davis. Felt pretty good knowing those were my 1st 2 picks.

By the time I got around to QB's, Favre was there.

Thanks gibber. Favre it is.

Hasselback had 26TD passes last year..that was tied for 3rd in the league. Also was 4th in passing yards.

Why wouldn't you take him again after his performance last season????

I was also leaning towards Hasselbeck in the second question posted. Which game do you think has more of a likelihood of being a blowout (in favor of your QB's team)? I think you'd have to agree that would be St Louis. If they ARE up a couple of scores, what are the chances Bulger keeps on throwing? Or do they run the ball, kill clock...and in turn kill your QB's numbers. Or maybe even take Bulger out altogether? I tend to avoid starting QB's who ~might~ be in over-match situations, and go with a QB who I figure may be involved in a competitive game, all other things being equal. There's really no way to predict exactly what teams will romp...but St Louis, based on pointspread alone, has to be considered more likely than most to be in this position.

As for Favre vs Leftwich...Favre is obviously better, but Carolina's got an excellent pass D. Buffalo's D is not half bad either. I guess I'd go Favre, but not by a wide margin. Neither QB has a really favorable matchup IMO.

B/C Alexander is the heart of the Seahags offense. In the red zone the ball is going to him. It was very frustrating last year. Yes he had alot of TDs but they were not consistent.. He would have 3 TDs in one game.. then 0 the next two.. Just an opinion.

On the other hand Rams are pass 1st run second. Bulger also has better WRs with more experience..

gibber......hasselbeck had at least 1 TD in 14 of the 16 games they played last year. He was pretty solid the entire year.......nothing wrong with him at all.

I learned a lesson a long time ago.....if you have a solid player (Hasselbeck) you dont go playing matchups with him. In other words.....start him every week. You go benching your good players for matchups, it WILL bite you in the long run. Especially with a player like Bulger......this guy sucks and will probably throw more interceptions than touchdowns this year.

Keep Bulger on the bench, he is clearly the 2nd rate player to Hasselbeck no matter who the Rams are playing

Still doesn't make any sense. As Big Tease pointed out, Hasselback had a TD pass in all but 2 games last season. He threw 2 or more TD passes in 6 games....Peyton Manning threw 2 or more in 7 games. Seems pretty consistent to me.

Bottom line is, he was the 3rd or 4th best fantasy QB last season and based on his performance, there is no logical reason not to draft him this season at his projected draft position.
