I do not have to love it,because it breaks from the norm and makes it now ever more impossible to handicap these games. There were thre or four more qb/center exchanges and handoffs, all couglin would have needed was for one of them to be returned for a touchdown and everyone of you would be calling him an idiot.Guys going for it one fourth down from the other teams fourty going in with a 10 point lead and eight minutes to go?What is the logic behind not punting the ball away in that situation?Pass when you are trying to run out the clock, run when you can kneel the ball out and end the game?No we want to score a touchdown instead. Why?What couglin did was very risky, its been proven to be able to backfire and cause a team to lose by doing much less than he did, they were trying to end the game when herm edwards got the gift, not trying to break tackles and score. Its probably the only time I've ever seen a couch do that, and yeah, its suspicious that it had a an impact on the gambling outcome.I can't ever remember a person NOT bringing in the kicker in that instance in the nfl ESPECIALLY in ot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The erratic coaching in college and the NFL makes it very hard to reliably predict anything.

Or maybe it was just windy and he didn't want to risk a shanked fg? Especially when his backs had been picking up 5 yards / pop all night.

Sorry about your loss but I can see why he wanted to score the TD, especially when he got close to the endzone.
