I checked my debit card the other day, and had $30,000 more dollars than I should have in my checking. I use my debit for my bets. I checked my statement and it was credited back to my card by the online sportsbook (who I won't mention).

I contacted them the first day, and they had no record of any type of credits. Yesterday, they contacted me saying there was a bank processing error from their bank, and it was a huge mistake and they demanded the money to be returned asap.

My question is can I keep the money? What are my rights in this situation, and since they are in a different country do the laws of the US take effect?

PLEASE RESPOND, I NEED SOME ADVICE!!

That was my first thought. I even contacted them at first. Then I started to think all the people that have lost their mortgage and their shirts off their back to these things, and I wonder if they would be paid back if the situation was turned around?

Thoughts

Respect your opinion Teddy!

Roger,

Why would it depend on the book (country?) . Let's just say it is a very popular book.

I'd give it back....but I'd sure either A.) Make their ass sweat a little bit for it. or B.) Make damn sure I get a little nugget for being so honest.

or ya know what? Just thinkin here...lets just say that you placed a bet "accidentally" for 30,000...do you think those bastards would give you the money back if you explained it was an honest mistake even right after you made the bet and before the game started? FAT CHANCE!!

Make em sweat even more!!!!

the books solution to that scenario would be something like this.

OK we are sorry your such a dumbass and you deposited 30k into your account by accident. Can you have it back LOL :thefinger

I will tell you what we will do however. You can play with it as long as you turn it over 10 times in 5 months then we will send you what is left. Good luck .

you know what zinky.

the more I think about it the more I think that this never happened. you cant pull the wool over our eyes without some of us seeing the yarn.

No way a sportsbook is going to transfer that amount of money to your account without about three managers signing off on it.

To prove me wrong I will provide you with a account number and you can transfer the funds to me. As a matter of fact I just got done with some good old boys in Nigeria and I need 30 K to color some cash. You can double your money !

I promise to take care of everything for you.

Hey never know I could save your life. Do the right thing zinky.

PS and one more thing. Someone in your situation doesnt say Great post ! they are too worried about their own ass to be complimenting others. But maybe thats just the kind of a guy that you are. And dont worry I have been called and accused of worse.
