Want to see this guy as a pro. I personally have a few doubts about all the hype surrounding him. am curious how he will translate to pro basketball,if he blossoms into a better player who was hindered by the college game or if its the Syracuse game 82 times in a row. He's much more passive than a guy with all that talent ought to be imho.

Won't be Syracuse times 82 because after about 40 games they will realize what we all know...the guy can't play.

Hello Charlotte!!!

Slow twitch guy, runs well, not as gifted as his brother who played at UNC, he bulked up a bit this year which affected his game, a bit stiff in upper body, but he would be an adequate backup player in the NBA, not a starter.

Most of these kids coming out early, can go back to school if they don't sign with an agent before a certain date, I believe his parents will tell him to go back to Indiana, just a strong strong hunch.

Smith should go back to L'ville too, as should Brown from NC State & Leslie, neither are first round material - this is a very weak draft, the money will be there for all of them in 2014.

Agree with a lot of your statements NBA Kid, but don't see this draft as weak. A number of good role players, but problem is this draft is NOT top heavy, but is deep with guys who could play in the league for a number of years in my humble opinion.

As for Zeller, he runs the floor extremely well. Realize he's not going to be a dominate pro, but he's still a kid and should develop into an average NBA big man and probably starter. Don't see anything special, but would hardly call him a bust. Also, not many big men coming out with better skills than him.

You hit it right on the head....

Lots of role players.

Not one player in this years draft will start in the NBA next season....That's how watered down it is.

Mock draft by jeff Goodman...

1-Ben McLemore
2-Nerlens Noel
3-Anthony Bennett
4-Otto Porter
5-Cody Zeller
6-Trey Burke
7-Shabazz Muhammad
8-Alex Len
9-Marcus Smart
10-Victor Oladipo

Big guys are the hardest IMO to project. If he can defend and shoot he'll be ok. In all reality the defend part of that is easy. There just aren't a ton of centers and PFs that are going to punish you anymore. I can't comment on his pick and roll d which is big now.

If he can shoot a mid range jumper with a nice % then he'll have a long career. Big men can get 15-20 footers off all day because it's such a different league now.

What Zeller can do is run; not a loping big man run, but a good run. He can also hit free throws, and there's no reason to think he can't extend his jumpshot and be effective from outside. He is also smart and can learn.

He just has to learn to quit flopping like a dookie and go strong at the rim. I would give him an average (for his size) for rebounding and blocking shots.

I think he'll be a bench player and effective backup in the right system.
