He returned to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex last Friday night and was tested immediately for Covid-19, with negative result. The only bad news in this scenario is that the Pelicans are scheduled to play in the very first game of the season?s restart this Thursday, against Utah Jazz, and it is uncertain if he will be 100% ready in such a short notice. The rookie has been training with the team already, of course, but it will be the coach?s last-minute decision if Zion plays in the first game or not.

Precisely during this week the final voting for the NBA yearly awards is taking place, and Zion Williamson is one of the two favorites to win the Rookie of the Year award along with Memphis Grizzlies? Ja Morant, another young man who has had a huge impact in the NBA this year.
Williamson?s numbers speak for themselves, 23.6 points per game, 6.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists in an average of 29.7 minutes per game. Remember that Zion Williamson suffered an injury last year during the preseason and had to stay in the sidelines for several months after.
