Akron -6 over Army ****...I got it at -4.5 last week..still like it..
Zips lost there Qb,breaking in a lot of new players on offense but there defense returns 8 and they are pretty solid there.Army is still in disarry.Thank god Ross got fired..Brock new coach..new offense..same players...and thats the problem.Williams the super soph was beaten out at Qb by Peveto.Peveto throws more ints. then receptions.His reads are bad,fumbles,etc. So the question is..did he improve to beat out Williams or is williams really bad..i guess will find out tonite.Armys biggest problem is offense...OL is bad..one starter back,no depth,there center 5'11 but they say 6'0.There Rb's are both 5'5 and 5'10.Wr are 5'10 and 6'0 Trimble who is there best player..but these guys can't go deep and peveto can't get them the ball..
Army defense...a little better but front line is below avg.can't pass rush or stop the run.LB's and Db's are pretty good.
Even though zips offense is new there defense should shut down Army O.Zips win this by 10-14 pts.
Oklahoma -40 over North Texas **** strong play
Hate the -40 but NT has no Qb..no offense,no OL,one Wr,Thomas the mystery Rb who lead the nation in rushing 2 yrs ago but has been hurt.
NT ranked last in scoring,offense,etc in the nation lyr. But former HS coach and Texas Qb is at the helm.NT going to a spread offense..hurry up.
But meagher is the qb and he and peveto could be two of the worst Qb's in D-1.
NT is calling it's new offense "dodge ball". But Dodge needs some time to recruit and he has 4 freshmanWR's that will all play today.His son is a senior and top rated HS Qb and will go to NT next yr. NT defense is pretty good but in Sun belt terms.
OU is loaded. two top backs aren't playing today..red shirt frosh gets start..OU defense will dominate... OU off line are all 300,306,330,350..Wr are 6'4 and 6'1 and a TE 6'6. Nt defense had a great spring. They stopped NT's offense in the scrimmage 2 weeks ago.NT scores 3,7 or maybe 10 in a strecth today.
If you look at the past history when the mean green play the big boys..lyr Texas 56-7..2 yrs ago Kansas st 54-2,LSU 54-7..they can't score or stop anybody..
Stoops is trying out all different players..Ou's 2nd and 3rd team will dominate in the 2nd half.Maybe Dodge being at Texas alum might make stoops run it up a little more..probaly not but OU wins 55-7..
Vir Tech -27 over ECU *** got it at -24 before Kass had is DUI..what a fool.Starting 1st game afor ECU,national TV,etc and he gets a 1.9 BAC..ECU is the best ats team around..but 2 new qb's at VT is not the place to break in..VT rolls...
