Chit....it might as well be.....

(Insert Madjack poster) vs. Zito

This is definatle a matchup of the best pitcher in Major League Baseball versus the worst pitcher in Major League baseball. I am actually thinking that the posted line of -370 has some value:eek:

two things scare me here:

1) oakland looked REALLY uninspired today. i mean tejada, save for his walkoff homer, almost single handedly lost the game. terrible at-bats with bases loaded twice. and his error in the 9th was because he thought he could just flip the ball to first and that would be enough. almost cost them the game

2) at some point, bonderman is gonna throw a gem. not necessarily saying he's "due" but he's basically the future of the franchise as far as the pitching staff goes. oakland isnt exactly hitting the cover off the ball right now. it wouldnt surprise me if this game was every bit as close as tonights game. bonderman obviously is still getting acclimated to the big leagues, but hes got great stuff and its only a matter of time before he throws a solid game. big time prospect who could cause oak trouble

GMAN.....I agree with you that Bonderman is going to be a decent pitcher someday. But if you arent ready, you arent ready, and he is not ready. He made the jump from Single A ball to the major leagues too quickly, and there are only a handful of pitchers that have even attempted it let alone be successful.

The one angle that I see working for him...is that Bonderman came from the A's in the Jeff Weaver trade, and may want to really bear down in this game. I think Detroit management wants to justify getting rid of Weaver by rushing Bonderman into a regular rotation. That way they can say.....BUT LOOK, we got Carlos Pena, Franklyn German, and Bonderman, and they are all huge contributors to the team. If Bonderman wasnt traded, he wouldnt have seen the major leagues for years.

With the way Detroit hits the ball.....and the fact that he is a lefty, I dont see Detroit scoring more than a run or so tonight.

The didn't have offense here either........3 runs on 3 hits going to the 9th, and the home run wasn't even a home run.......BUT, you are right about the A's not producing. They are getting hits, but spread out and not getting the big ones. Tejada is killing this team.
