Hank's in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

This is "The Big Okie" with cheese--4 meat patties! I also ordered the popular option of pressing the onions into the meat as it grills.

The Bomber Burger in Wichita, Kansas. I stupidly ordered the double cheeseburger. 24 ounces of meat, local fresh never frozen ("ground chuck, seasoned with my secret seasoning", said the owner.), Couldn't even attempt to fit my mouth around it!

Bomber Burger (a one man operation) has excellent hand-cut fries too! He does press down on the patties while cooking, squishing out some of the moisture and fat (which I don't like to seen done).

close up of how tall it is..

Not the fanciest place, eh?

Dickie Jo's in Eugene, Oregon. One of the better among the fresh and sustainable upscale drive-in burger joint craze that is sweeping the country. The buns are baked on site.

Here's one of my many In-and-Out Double Double Animal Style burgers--from July of this year, Tropicana Rd location in Las Vegas!

In addition to the standard toppings, animal style burgers include: pickles, extra spread, with grilled onions and mustard fried onto each meat patty.

Tillamook Cheeseburger from the Burgerville location in Salem, Oregon. Fine tasting with that quality cheese and excellent secret sauce. Unfortunately the fries are just average.

Burgerville?s Tillamook Cheeseburger has 130 more calories and 13 more grams of fat than McDonald?s quarter pounder with cheese!

5 Guys cheeseburger, Stockton, CA. Fries here are much better!

"Consumer Reports" surveyed 28,000 subscribers on "the best- and worst-tasting burgers around the U.S", published the results a few months ago.

The top two
(In-N-Out and Five Guys) came out in virtual tie for 1st. The McDonald's tested was the plain basic burger. No doubt the Quarter Pounder or Big Mac would have scored somewhat higher.

1. In-N-Out Burger
2. Five Guys Burgers and Fries
3. Fuddruckers
4. Burgerville
5. Back Yard Burgers
6. Culver's Frozen Custard
7. Whataburger
8. Hardee's
9. Carl's Jr.
10. Checkers Drive-In
11. White Castle
12. Wendy's
13. Sonic Drive-In
14. A&W Restaurant
15. Krystal
16. Burger King
17. Jack in the Box
18. McDonald's

Above the Clouds....
After I saw that episode of Triple D I tried that way of pressing the burger into the onions. It was good and I think thinly sliced onions would have tasted even better! :0074

da very fine "Pitts Burger" at Casino El Camino on 6th Street, Austin, TX. Never frozen ground chuck cooked medium, sauteed mushrooms and grilled onions on grilled bun with A-1 sauce. Hand cut fries.

I've eaten at Casino El Camino going back 11 years and don't think I've ever ordered a different burger here! I think I'll experiment with the Buffalo burger next. Owners are actually from Buffalo, so they know how to make that shit.

Naturally, "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives" paid a visit:

Green Chili Cheeseburger, at the famous Owl Bar & Cafe, San Antonio, New Mexico.

A terrific homemade peppered beef patty with all that fine green chili and cheese!

This long beautiful hardwood bar inside was from the original Hilton Hotel. It was crafted by the Brunswick-Balke-Collender Co. (later famous for it's bowling balls). Conrad Hilton was born in San Antonio, NM, and had his first hotel here (really, his dad's glorified Crystal Palace bar).

after it burned some CCC boys offered to salvage and move the bar to the Owl for payment in beer and beef. It took two days.

You can get hamburguesa con queso y chile all over New Mexico. There is even a version available off the $1 menu at McDonald's in New Mexico!

But ya gotta love getting them in homey little bars, with nothing but at truck and my Chevy Prizm parked in front

Pescetarianism is the practice of a diet that includes seafood, and excludes other animals. In addition to fish and/or shellfish, a pescetarian diet typically includes some or all of vegetables, fruit, nuts, grains, beans, eggs and dairy. The Merriam-Webster dictionary dates the origin of the term "pescetarian" to 1993 and defines it to mean: "one whose diet includes fish but no meat".[1]

My step-father was on that program from about 1965 to 1987 when he died of a heart attack at the age of 64

He never made my mom, me, or sister get on the plan but he sure preached to us for years and years. He quit smoking about the same time he started the new diet. Vegetarian, he called it.

You think he could have extended his life with some feed lot meat?

No, just sayin'

His diet, his 5 mile daily walks, everything he did, we all expected him to live to be 100, and so did HE!

Life expectancy is higher than ever and I highly doubt it's because of the better diets.
