Driver: Ping G30, regular flex shaft
Hybrids: 2h, 3h, 4h. 2 is old TM Burner. 3 and 4 are TM M2
Irons: 5i - GW, Titleist AP1 712
Wedges: 56 and 64 degree, Cleveland
Putter: Scotty Cameron Select Golo
Balls: TM TP5 (or ProV1s I find)

Handicap Index = 3.5

Dropped my index to lowest point ever this year. Shortened my back swing and it has helped my accuracy but cost 20 yards per club. The trade off has been incredibly favorable. Previous best score at my home course was 76, but since making the adjustment, I had had two 72s, a 74 and a 75 in past 8 weeks.

Flex shafts ... Sound like a bunch of senior citizens i yell at on the course to hurry the fuck up :mj07:

I always enjoy posts from guys that need to chime but don't know what they are talking about. "Flex shafts"? As opposed to what, non-flex shafts? They all flex, genius.

Uh ya they all flex but you have flex shafts specifically for the elderly. Then you have regular.... then you have stiff and then there's extra stiff... also you have graphite and steel... I don't know know what I'm talking about? Uh okay what ever you say.... and yes I understand most of you eat at hometown for free I'm just saying......

I am thinking of trying graphite shafts in my irons any thoughts or suggestions, I am getting older (60) and lost about 10 yards on all my irons, I use a taylormade driver with graphite and seem to hit it longer and straighter.

I am a duffer after staring back at golf after quitting for about 6 years because of sun problems ( a good round for me is 80-85 )

Highlite of my golfing was about 1995 I went to vegas to play in a 4 man tournament blind draw for teams and I was the c player on team we won $92000 split 4 ways at that time I had a pretty good short game and I was able to contribute so I felt good helping the team.

Is losing 10 yards on your irons really a problem? All you are really trying to do is have a club for varying distances, so if it shifts by 10 yards on the ends of that span it might leave you short on the long approach, but should help on the shorter shots. The worst players at my club all hit wedges where I'm hitting 7 irons and even 6 irons. If hitting irons far was that important, they'd score better, but that's not how it works.
