normally dont bet the nfl particularly heavy. havent seen anything in preseason or the first two weeks that i like as much as this one. having said that, not trying to hype this game by any means. i think anyone who knows me knows my style. this is a strong nfl play for me, but - keep in mind - this IS the nfl. (if you get what im alluding to. sh1t never makes sense some times)
anyways:
2.5 units.......detroit (+3.5) over minnesota
would play it on the moneyline, but i'll grab the field goal and hook instead i think.
i guess maybe its just my way of looking at stuff, but in regard to some early posts this week about this being a fishy line and betting detroit as a contrarian play- i dont see this line as really "off" by any means. lions have fared very well in this series lately. vikings certainly have impressed the 1st two weeks, but lions have put up a boatload of points at home this season/preseason. it just seems like harrington is really comfortable at ford field. his number would support that as well. still not sold on the minnesota running game either. (to that point, lions have their own running issues, but im not the one layin points in this one) definitley doesnt hurt that this is probably a contrarian play, but thats hardly the reason im betting it. lions will win this game straight up. just seems like mariucci is really getting the lions to play with a sense of purpose at home. theyll take their lumps on the road, but i like these guys as a home dog.
