I've been gambling for 5 years now, and I have seen my hard earned money go to waste. I have also put myself in debt a few thousand as well. This is just not worth it anymore. I am 25 years old and I can't stand to see what I have done to myself with this sh it, but I keep on doing it. I have closed my account as all my money was on G.B., and I am going to start working hard for my money once again. So long to all in the forum.

Hope you guys have better luck than I did.

You might want to stick around for one more play. This is the ballgame here. If GB gets this stop they may end up putting up 3 more. At least they can move the ball tonight.

I know what you mean Tupac, Im your age and have lost a good amount of money I won't say gambling, it's just not a good habit and is very difficult to turn a profit, just work for it the way everyone else does, take less money but you won't lose, I wish you the best buddy, and I know EXACTLY where you're coming from, I had a debt 3 years ago i paid off, lost more a year ago, and now am on a hiatus until I either re-tool my whole system, or else just watch games for enjoyment and just work and make less $ but be like every other average joe blow, that's what most people do is have to work

just some advice

just some advice

Just get some distance.......

Watch the games....and maybe paper bet.

You'll be back....

Here's how it it'll happen.....

You'll be driving one day...and the announcer on the radio says something that just clicks...and when it does that feeling of the "lock" will come to you from the heavens. When that does...bet large.

We all go and come back.

No way.

Do not bet large on anything, no matter how good it looks. That is how you got in this mess to begin with. Sometimes it will work out, but half the time it won't and then you're up the creek.

Don't bet above your head. Don't double-up or go all in to try to make up for a bad day/week/season.

Set up a bankroll, stick to it, and bit a small, fixed percentage of it on each pick. Preferably about 2% of your bankroll per play. Definitely no more than 4%. Don't bet significantly more on one game than you do on another. Grind it out, don't try to hit the home run.

Do this and you will never go broke again. You can withstand losing streaks with smart money management. Then you can work on your handicapping. Without money management you are doomed forever.

Sorry you've lost money that you can't afford to lose. I never like to see this happen to anyone. But trust me, money management is FAR more important to learn than anything about handicapping.

Best of luck.

GM very well put. I do this for a hobby. My plays are all 1 unit. I do not turn a profit doing this but I consider it entertainment. Entertainment is not free. I have good weeks and bad weeks. When I do have that really bad week I might try a parlay (for 1 unit) to try and recoup my losses. If this fails I still have a bankroll to play with. Hope this might help someone.

i readily admit to being small potatoes.....i can`t imagine what a ballbuster it must be to have to gamble to supplement your income....i strictly do it for the enjoyment......i don`t think i could handle it to lose a grand on some frickin` ref`s brainfart or a stupid coaching decision.....i wouldn`t be able to watch the games....

on the internet, you can make a $5 bet......

if you come back, tupac,do it for the enjoyment.....it`s much more enjoyable when the games aren`t life and death....

all kidding aside,i should have listened to you..... but, there`s an ultimate coming up in a few weeks.....if anything looks interesting to ya`,and you feel magnanimous, you can slip ole` weasel a tip or two.....

tip or not,i`d be interested in your opinions......i`m not as versed in the mma stuff as boxing and football....i find i can`t cap sports that i never played or took part in...or so it seems....

You're probably like most of us that work hard for your money, so treat bets the same way that you work, hard. Never bet more than you can afford to lose, never, never, never, I know you have heard that millions of time but just do it, if i am losing and still need the action I just log in to one of my offshore accounts and bet $5.00 , 10.00 never chase my local always end up losing. Next week usally comes out better, just keep it to a minium, hell I don't really know what I am doing but I'm getting better at it after about 27 years of sports gambling. anyways Good Luck

I think you have to have a system and stick to it no matter what. ANY system is better than no system but it must be played religiously. I never diverge from my system anymore and I am making progress the last 4 years though it is VERY slow.

CORRECTION: Well, not ANY system...I mean, something like always play home teams isn't going to work.

I think the same goes for the stock market by the way.

It is a good sign that you can tell when its time to quit. You have a lot of company, its a human condition or weakness so don't be ashamed. There are many "players" that post here that need to check the gambers anonymous website as well, you can tell by the way they talk, ever increasing the size of their bets.I once heard a professional say its not a game for those in short pants and he sure was right. Many of those who say goodbye for healthy reasons like yours are back almost immediately.I hope you make it.GL either way

tupac.............you'll be back this weekend after you western union your book more money from your credit card..........you had a bad week, and like so many losers do...you chased and bet BIG on the monday night game...

5 or 10 dollar bets dont do it for me....whats the use?

I think bettors bet more than they can afford to lose for the rush....

I either win big or lose big...and i've been losing big for 15 years now.....

its an addiction.......sorry tupac.....you're doomed to a life of watching sports on tv, scores and play-by-plays on your computer screen and constantly calling scorephones when you are away from the other 2.

good luck to you but i think you will be back in no time..........
