Earlier I posted that it would be great to see just the number of bad experiences and who gave them to us on services across the nation. If you have been around the business like i have the past 25 years you probably have a list like mine. people should share thier bad services with each other so the younger guys don"t get trapped. I"m not afraid to tell you the truth, heres the services i would not reccommend using if you like MONEY! Its been awhile, but heres the ones still around. Jim Fiest, Kelso Sturgen,Wayne Root, Jimmy Stevens, great guy, bad picks! ATS with John Ryan, great marketer and salesman, good info on brochure every week, which is worth every penny by the way, picks are terrible. But every week they win units, says it on the sheet,HA! Robert Robino out of N.Y. nice man but 1-6-1 the last eight biggest games of the season. Ron Harris out of N.Y., good bullshitter, nice guy, pathetic picks. Larry ness, good on big games bad% 2 worst and 1 best ,next thread

2 worst and 1 best service

2 worst and 1 best service

follow up on my last reply, i told you i would give you the 2 worst services and the best service over the 25 years. The 2 WORST ever was two guys named JOHNNY DEMARCO and JACK PRICE. Simply put they always stated they were rated # 1 in something, i can quarentee all of you it had nothing to do with sports, all bull. The best one i used, wasnt to bad, he had a nice informational news letter, and was the only one of twenty some that hit over the 56% required for most to make money. His name was Marc Lawerance. He had his own show, probably still does, but haven"nt used him for many years now. I think the season was over, and i started doing everything pretty much on my own. Ihope you"ll all respond to help out the younger players into staying away from all the scams. REMEMBER no one will ever call you up and tell you ,Hey buddy, I was 2-9 last week in hoops, want to pay me for my picks. No one ever loses! Just YOU !

would not use anyone that does not post record and picks each day.would not use anyone who give guanantee-what good is another month or no pay if it loses.have used 7 or 8 in the past 15 yrs-4 from this site.think you are better sticking with the forum and not paying.sometimes if you think you have a great service you might buy into that hype about goy and risk too much.better off being a plodder than a plunger.good luck.

Sure this is a very common story. About four years ago, I opened up the USA today on a monday morning, sifted thru all the scammer ads and called one of the tollfree recorded message #'s. Well, of course, it wasn't, and I talked with some guy who tried to get me to give him $500 for like 2 weeks worth of all sports. He told me some crap about them being the #1 rated service by the Vegas Examiner or something like that. I was about a $40 to $50 player at the time, so he needed to give me about 80% winners to profit from his vast knowledge. Purchasing this was never an option for me. Then the crap really started to get deep. "We're not statistical handicappers, you see, we only make a move when there is a serious mistake within the line." Well, there must be a problem with every Monday line, 'cause they always seem to appear in the paper on mondays. Anyway, the game was GB at Carolina. This was when Beuerlein was starting. GB was favored by about 4 and the total may have been about 43. Doesn't matter, really, though. He asked me for my take on the game, I told him Carolina and the over. He says, "Well, not too bad, play it that way and you'll just lose juice." And, for only $500, he'll correct me on my plays. Let me think about it. Well, wise to his scam, I have my brother call. He gets that the same routine. My bro tells him he likes Carolina and the Under. "Well, buddy, not too bad, if you play that, you'll just lose juice." Well, as you may expect, Carolina whooped the Pack as the game sailed over. Amazing, I was right. I'm not saying they're aren't a few respectable guys out there, but I don't really know of any. This is the kind of horseshitte I'd expect from most of 'em. I trust many of the people on MJ's and none of them have ever asked for my credit card #. Then again, none of them are rated #1 by the Las Vegas Post Examiner, or whatever it's called.

Silver Strike Sports is about as awful as it gets - while they will not lie about their record because it's monitored they will claim that their current losing streak is just bad luck and over any extended period of time or the long term they will win - I would guess they lose about 100 units a year - they are horrible and it is a crime that they take in money - they lose in every sport too - in my opinion, this is the new breed of scammer - they are honest but they consistently lose and still scam money from people knowing they can't win.

I just checked Silver Strike Sport's record but bases and football are gone - I believe they were down 30 units in bases, 10 units in college football and 10 units in NFL - they are already down 11 units in hockey - I think they will lose 50 units in hockey - but like they say - they will win over the long run - I guess three sports for the entire season is not the long run - they are bad - very bad.

i used them.he posted that refunds would be given for bases but i get email that my 550 dollars was paid 2nd week of season and i did not qualify.was given free footbal instead.that lost.he pulled last week for the year.another service from here was down 146 units in bases,-28 ncaa football,-29 nba, plus 11 college hoops, plus 52 in nfl.wish they were nfl only.% plays that one service from here gives are down 150 plus units for the year.can't compute that to percentages but it is bad.tough year for pay sites.

I played bases with Silver Strike Sports and was given a refund in full. Bought my package before the season started though so I'm not sure if the same rules applied.......I do know that the rules were posted and easy to understand. They did have a pretty rough year but it seemed to me that just about everyone did. The one thing I don't think you can question is their integrity......I was guaranteed (in the rules) that if they didn't profit 30 units for the year that I would be given a full refund. Even when it became clear that they were going to have trouble winning 30 units, they never changed their betting style. If I was in their shoes, I would have started playing 10-14 games per night and making some if not all of them multiple unit plays.......it was the only chance they had to keep their cash. But to their credit. they continued to only play 2-4 games per night just as they had all season. Even though I lost, I would still trust NDNFAN to pick me some baseball winners next season........and I strongly disagree that Chenker will lose 50 units in hockey.

why ask why

why ask why

thats so funny, iremember one day he went 1-5, and my buddy didnt know i was with him about 10 years ago and called his 900 number. called me later and told me that he had information on a bunch of games that the won 19 out of his last 21 games. He told me it was Jack Price, I didnt say anything, i just took his picks, they were different then the ones called me with, we went a combined 1-8, that was the last straw, I believe in a two week span i was 08-31, lost over 10 dimes, but he did give me the rest of the season for free 2 times, lol, lol.

SCAMdicappers

SCAMdicappers

I've had a few interesting experiences with these chumps. Back in college, me and some buddies were using Marc Lawrence, and some other guy out of Vegas, I forget his hame. I just remember he was a former player, QB I think, and his last name was Italian (not Montana) :) . Anyway, they honestly did really well the first year we used them. So much so, that the next year, we decided to buy their entire season up-front. Big mistake. If you ask me, that's where they say, "thanks for the money, go to hell, we don't care about your dumb ass anymore." After that I stayed away from those a$$holes, knowing they were just a bunch of punks. Fast forward to winter 2003. My brother used Mike Wynn during college hoops last season, and went on an unbelieveable run. Wynn was on fire, I'm not gonna lie, and my brother would swear to it. Fast forward to late summer 2003 :( , my brother and a buddy of mine by Wynn for the football season. I stayed away vowing not to get involved in wagering at all this season. Wynn sucked dog all season!! I mean, he blew bad. My buddy get's in with another guy, Spike Meazer. Stay away from this bag of wind. He did well for my buddy going about 80%. Thing was, my buddy was buying his picks week to week. He suckers my buddy in to buying the rest of the season. You guessed it, dropped to below 50% at that point, and made me want to put my foot in his a$$ on more then one occasion.
Not sure what all this means.....
If you ask me, go with the guys in the forums here at madjacks. As it was stated earlier, they've never asked for anyone's credit card number and just about everyone in here wants everyone else to win more then they lose.
Above all else, NEVER wager money you don't have. :nono:

Good luck. :)

White Shadow, I am not saying you are wrong but how honest is someone who consistently LOSES in EVERY sport and still takes in money from unsuspecting customers? In my opinion, if you lose in every sport for the year it is crystal clear that you cannot win and will never win over any extended time frame and if you still take in money and give out picks you are a dishonest scumbag. It is a slightly more sophisticated scam than someone who claims to hit 90% but in the end the client still gets scammed.

Seymour......I guess I don't look at it as being dishonest since they're not saying they won when they lost. They post their record for all to see. The bottom line is that I was willing to spend the money for NDNFAN's opinion on baseball games. Nobody twisted my arm. Do I wish he had a better year? Sure I do but at least when it didn't go as well as he hoped, I got the refund that was guaranteed to me. I still think he knows what he's doing and I usually like his plays......I don't have the time to research it whole lot myself so I appreciate someone putting the work in for me. Is it worth? Probably wasn't this year but I'm not going to say I won't do it again next season.

Since 1963/64 I can only say the list is way to long. And yes they had a couple back then. Started around 66. Believe the way I found about them was small papaer called football news. Actuley I dont believe fooball news started as that. I think it was called Detroit sports news. Anyway that paper was ok It had stories and statas. Had some early trends folks had stumbled on to. Had a few picks from some writers. It at least gave you some help. But was better then nothing back then. And never made any claims about being good. Last time we had a thead like this I believe someone said there are now over 1000 service you can get. Just think from 2 to 1000. Now how many are part of a group that put's out both sides on many game. No one knows for sure. My guess 75% of them.
