ferd,
I never said anything about not wanting this or any other war. I just said that it was silly to say, "Nobody wants a war," one minute and then say, "I think a war is necessary," the next. NOTHING is ever necessary. You may believe something is necessary for your own sanity, survival, etc., but there are always choices. If you think a war is "necessary", then you want a war, plain and simple.
I actually think dawgball may have given the smartest answer in all that has been written about this war on this message forum. If your elected leader says, "We should go to war," then you should support it. I know some will argue that they didn't vote for this particular leader, but EVERYONE, by being a citizen of the country, agrees that leaders should be democratically elected and therefore there is a strong argument that you should listen to and agree with what your leader says in matters of great importance.
One thing that is undeniably true is that a country or any other entity weakens when there are too many chiefs and not enough indians. I know that I, along with most Americans, value the right to form your own opinions and speak out on dissenting opinions, but when push comes to shove, there is something to be said for maintaining the overall strength of your beloved country.
