maybe there is power of prayer so I'm gonna make my private life public today.
dad ain't doing so hot lately. we found out last month that he most likely has lung cancer. he's been through a lot of tests and the more tests he has done the more it's looking like C. today he had a biopsy done and his lung collapsed so they admitted him. he should be back home in a few days when they get his lung working on it's own and then we'll get the results of the biopsy.
there's definitely a small mass in one lung and a lot of other "activity" going on but the nodes in the center are the main concern of the doctors. the biopsy will tell them what type of cancer and what stage. even their best and most optimistic guess isn't very encouraging to say the least although the best news would be something that is operable and will give him a chance to stay with us for some more quality years.
I'm in tears as I type this and I'm positive he wouldn't want me doing this, but my main man needs some prayers and some cheering up. I'm not religious but I do believe in the need for him to be thinking positive and the need for him to be cheerful and the need for his mind to be kept off this as much as possible.
do me a favor and send him a card saying something funny or positive. at least 100+ of you have met him at the superbowl parties. let's hope he'll be there again next year.
thanks. his address is:
