I got one of these in the mail today. I hate these damn cameras they put throughout the city. I have paid the last two of them off but was wondering if there was anyway to fight these.

Maybe the Lawyers like Eddie and Taoist have some ideas....

how can you fight it, they sent you the proof? they have a pic of you entering the intersection with the light red, they have you IN the intersection with the light red and they have a pic of your tag.

i've gotten 3 myself (all from the same light) so i finally learned to NOT run the light there ;)

plus, you don't get the points and that's all i really care about anyway.

I love these things, but they're fighting them around here, so we don't have anything yet. Last thing I need is someone running a red light and hitting me. No disrespect, but you deserve the tickets.

Yep

Yep

I thought I did too (learn my lesson). I have got the last two from the same light. It's a bad turn lane intersection in DC that has a quick light that turns yellow-red real fast in rush hour with a stream of cars and it has got me more than once. A few of my friends went to court and said they were not driving the car at the time of the incident or just admitted to it but said the light was not red at the time of the incident and got it dismissed. Just wondering if you think its worth it to go to court and plead my case rather than just pay it - that's what they want you to do so the city can rake in the $$$$.........

I'm going to order a pair, looks good...I guess they're coming up with new designs. Oh well, I'll order them as soon as they come up with them, I entered my email to be contacted.

I think that the idea behind them is any photo taken that is blurred can probably be fought in court, if the ticket even goes that far. Seems like a blurred photo would be easier to fight than a crystal clear photo.

That makes sense, although u will then have to tip-toe around why you have a clear cover over your license plate. Keeping it clean and shiny might not fly :)

...have often wondered about the laws concerning license plates and the ability to read them....

...have seen a number of vehicles....mainly trucks.....that have license plate frames that cover the edge of the plate so you don't even know what state they're from....add to that a big ball hitch...what is the license number????

...remember when these cameras first come out, saw the footage where somebody took thier plates off and dressed in a gorilla suit....camera got the whole incident but the authorities had nowhere to go without the identity of the driver or the car involved...

I don't know about elsewhere, but around here, if the license plate frame covers enough of the vital info. (state or number)that it might be difficult to read, you can get a ticket for it. :(
