Whoopi-you is one ugly broad. I'm sure some on this board have a no cull policy, but even dead drunk I don't think I'd hit that.

I noticed Ed hasn't even come into the thread talking about hitting it. He does drink and is constantly paining for a piece of ass, any piece of ass. She could whisper liberal nothings in his ear while he sniffs the rats nest on top of her head. I'm thinking it would be a good spot to "brush the dust off" and get in some quality "billing time".

stevie,

if slim fast violated her right to free speech, then she should pusue legal action. but i'm sure there is a provision in her contract that allows them to do this.

i don't care what party is involved.

i would say the samething if it was at a bush rally.

i don't listen to talk radio anymore & definitely don't like rush limbaugh.

and btw, i'm not alone in this.

what is wrong in politics, like society, is that there is an increasing lack of respect given to people with different views.

Stevie,

I disagree. It wasn't political. It was simply a company that didn't want to alienate half of their customers. Honestly, suggesting that Slimfast is biased towards Bush is as absurd as Ctownguy saying that snopes is biased.

AR,

She becomes a business liability because presumably half of their customers might be offended by her comments. Slimfast didn't sign her up to be a lightning rod. She's not a political liability, but definitely a business liability. Her comments will have exactly zero effect on the election.

kosar,

of course she is a business liability. but she is a business liability because people are offended by what she said about the president.

and i agree this, by itself, wont effect the election.

Slimfast canned her purley for political reasons. That means they violated her right to free speech. It is really pretty simple and just because you didn't like what she said doesn't make it right. I don't like a lot of things being said. Right wing radio and Fox TV among others showed no respect to President Clinton yet they were allowed to stay on the public airways. If you were upset by what Whoopi said, which I have not heard by the way, then you must have be beside yourselves with anger over what Right Wing radio says about a former first lady.

Sorry, Stevie, but I'm keeping this one as an example of how liberals think and reason (and whine). My God, I'm blown away. Such injustice, it's just not fair!... Seriously, liberlas can complain about anything that has transpired and they have to be on the correct side. And of course, if that don't work you can say that what you pursue is the overall good for mankind :142lmao:

What does the First Ammendment have to do with a company disagreeing with the image that an "Image Portayer" has made. I mean she's being paid nice american dollars to promote an image of a product. I don't think they canned her for being anti-Bush, I believe it was for being such a beatch about it.

I was not aware that previous to -poking fun at Mr. Bush that Whoopi was considered some kind of role model with a pure as Ivory Snow image. We are not talking about an "R" rated comedian with an "X" rated mouth. That was her image and it still is. The only thing that has changed about her is that she made a comment that offended some people politically. That is why she was fired, Not because she swore or used inuendo or whatever it was that she said.

Then last night Dennis Miller who has tried to become Bushs best buddy. Well he was talking at a event for the Republicans and talking about how gay Kerry and Mr Ed are. He better be carefull Cheney will smack him. Cheney having a Lesbian daughter might not like that talk.

I do not think it shows respect to catagorize political candidates as gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that. :) Where is the outrage from the Right? They must be beside themselves with anger and they must be writing letters now threatening to boycott Dennis Millers Show. What a joke! Some of you guys speak from both sides of your mouth. Stop your right wing whining. Someone called Bush a name so you are all going to boycott the product. Boo hoo. Take your ball and go home.

Not like when it was BO and his boat trailer.(Is this Kerry's political base?) I think you forgot to call it a racist move too.

just to clarify what i meant in my previous posts.

imo people wouldn't have a problem if what whoopie said about bush was on her own time.

the problem is that she made her comment at a kerry fund raiser with the candidate present.

& then at the end of the function kerry said more or less that these entertainers are speaking for america.these comments can come back to haunt kerry.

instead he should have distanced himself from whoopie's & the other entertainers comments.

now what whoopie said, by itself won't hurt kerry, although i believe the kerry camp might think otherwise. because if they didn't think so, they would have released the tapes of the event to show that the comments were no big deal.

Hey MC, that was a private exchange between the VP and mealy mouthed backstabbing senator that impuned his intergrity and then tried to play like they are old friends.

He's lucky that's all Cheney did :cursin:

mc,

perhaps i'm giving people the wrong impression of myself.

i don't get offended by what people say about others.
i never get embarrassed by comments made towards me or others.
and i have not lost sleep over what whoopie has said about bush.

i'm not really angered what whoopie said. i never thought that she was classy in the first place.

i'm more annoyed that kerry didn't separate himself by her comment at his political function.

and as ctg said, cheney's comments were a private exchange between the two.

StevieD I will give you one thing you always talk out of the same side of your mouth. Too funny. You have not even heard the comments she made and say it is political and violated her free speech. They canned her becuase they did not want the leading spokesman for there company acting in that manner in such a public forum. I can not think of any products that would. They do not give a rats ass about being political. All they care about is the bottom line with thier product which is sales.
Political, Freedom of speach. :lol2

Cheney dropping the F word was so private only about 15 people herd it. The floor of the Senate is no longer holy ground.

Ricknjack maybe someday you will realize what freedom of speech is. We are free to say what we want to say without fear of reprisal. If sales went down for Slimfast then of course they could fire her because she was not being effective. But to can her because some Republicans didn't like what she said and promised to boycott the product is wrong and un=American. In fact it is un-American to boycott something simply because you don't like what somebody says.
