Jack,

If you're looking for contest ideas for the coming FB season I've got one. It's very easy to run and score, and it's fun. I won one in this format a couple years back.

Everyone posts up $ ____ @ _________ Sportsbook. No bonuses are given on postups, but instead the money is put towards the prize fund. Winner takes all, no second prize. Hopefully the book also kicks in a fair amount of the postup money too, so 1st prize is hefty.

Everyone submits 3 games of their choice (sides only, no totals) with the spread every week. The person with the most wins at the end of it walks away with the prize. Ok, sounds kind of ho-hum...but...there is one other rule. If you ever go 0-3 for a week you're out. You could be in first place, a half dozen games ahead of second with a week to go....if you go 0-fer, you're history.

The year I won it there were something like 500+ people who started out...only 18 people made it through week 17 without an 0-fer. Really fun. :)

Hope you'll consider it.

i like this idea and will run it by a few sportsbooks.

we already have 2 huge contests ready for registration so get busy on those too ;)

in the meantime, does anybody else want to share their ideas about a contest and are there any volunteers for running one for us?

we're running out of time so let's hear some ideas real soon, like, by the end of the week?

thanks

I know there was some talk last year of running that "Survivor" contest last year---and if I recall, YYZ may have run it 'for fun'?? That's always an interesting contest--picking a winner a week, advancing to the following week until a team you pick loses. It can be done where an individual cannot duplicate a team, or where any team is fair game throughout the season. Just a thought.

Jack--I'd be willing to volunteer if you were interested or if you wanted the help....

At PPPP headquarters, we are currently putting together the details for PPPP(4). As always, there will be great prizes offered including cash and t-shirts!!! This is one PPPP event that you don't want to miss!!! We have had over 100 players in some of our other contests and we expect a huge turnout for this one!!!

As always, thanks for your interest in the PPPP series, the most exciting contest of it's kind on the net today!

The PPPP, where dreams really do come true!

I ran the SEC Bowling contest last year on here. You take 10 bowl games each serving as a frame. The spreads for all 10 games are set before the first one kicks off. You pick the winner ATS for all 10. If you get the game correct, you receive 5 points PLUS the amount that they cover the spread by PLUS your next frame's score (like a spare). If you miss the game, you receive zero points for that frame. If there is a push, everyone receives 3 points. The reason for this rule is to award the people who picked correctly in the previous frame.

I have a spreadsheet built that does all of the calculating automatically, so it is not much work.

I think Pujo21 won it last year on here.

To add, we could do it for every bowl game just as easily.

On the course!
I always liked the format I tried to push here a few years ago. You pick your teams, and your points are determined by how much you beat/lose to the spread by. This way, no one is ever out of the running, or sitting on the lead.

In a way, it sucks if you go 5-0 and every team covered by 2 points, and somone else goes 1-4 and has 4 games lose by a point, and the last game win by 40!

It is never boring though.
