apparently,edward needed a valet and he couldn`t track down any immigrant labor on short notice...

I would hope that it is just internet access/power/phone line issues in this case, thats enough to deal with.
he is fine ,he was out in vegas house had lot of stuff blowen down in yard but it held up just a big mess to clean up from when i spoke to him, he was going to try to get home late last night.

Like fletch mentioned, I happened to be in Vegas this weekend. I went out on thursday, just ahead of it. I took a red-eye back on saturday night (instead of staying another day like I planned).
When I left thursday it was a cat 2, heading for Tampa, which basically would be a little rain here in Fort Myers and that's it, so it barely crossed my mind. Then of course it skipped to a cat 4 within hours on friday and turned towards here and away from Tampa.
Sanibel Island (10 miles south) was devastated, along with Captiva Island, Pine Island and Matlacha. All of these are barrier islands very near here.
Of course, Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda, 30 miles north of here where it made land first, were pretty much totally destroyed.
My community got off pretty easy, with some uprooted trees, and all street signs gone. Some mesh cages over pools blown away. Virtually all landscaping destroyed.
But that pales in comparison to the aforementioned places, and even other sub-divisions only several miles away.
Can't say I wish I was here for it, but my girlfriend was less than pleased that I was partying in Vegas while she was sitting in the dark with no electricity in a 100 degree house for 2 days eating crackers. Women, huh?

my flight back from chicago was on a friggin prop plane! ugh! only a 40 minute ride but choppy as hell.

Do your parents know how their house made out on Sanibel? They still haven't let any homeowners back on Sanibel(and they're irate) and only 200 people stayed on island for the storm, but hopefully someone was able to give them an update. They're letting residents back on on wednesday at 7am.

My electric at home came back on Sunday. About 60,000 people(including Kims place, my office, etc) out of 500,000 people in the county are still without power. Up in Charlotte county (next county north) about 75% are without power and they're talking 6 weeks to 2 months before it's totally restored up there. I hate those prop planes too, brother. Glad you made it back ok. It was a great time, as always!
