BOISE -7
UCLA -3
ASU +2.5
BYU +3.5
CSU +24
UTAH -13
CAL -33

Real quickly before I write up each game tommorow

Boise.. I got it thru my local at 7.. but I am seeing it at 7.5.. BOISE is ready to take down a BCS foe and if you think Death Valley is tough.. Boise is just as bad to go too

UCLA- love their running backs: Defense improved in 2nd half (how could it not)... how much better is Ill than last yr?

ASU +2.5.. Great Field Goal kicker vs a terrible one here... in a pick em type game I will take ASU with its kicker.. this one could be 80 pts combined

BYU +3.5.. not impressed by Stan yet, lets see them face the blitz

CSU +24... great finish vs CU... now its time to play the biggest and badest of them all... get ready USC

UTAH -13.... PLAY OF WEEEK!!!!
Arizona looked pathetic vs NAU and had it not been for a bad call NAU would have been leading late in teh 3rd... these guys are not good yet.. UTAH IS AWESOME

CAL -33.. if UTAH is awesome, then words cant describe Cal... Cal stopped/dominated Air Forces option in the 2nd half and they will play NMSU option attack.. Cal will score 56+ points

Full write ups coming

Looking forward to seeing where they put this over/under at. NW's games averaged 45 points last year, so I'm wondering if they'll keep this O/U in the fifties.

Have to agree with you here BG. Reminds me of last year. UofA opened by beating the $hit out of a horrible UTEP team only to be a dog the next week by about 17 points to LSU and ended up losing by around 50 (granted it was LSU). I don't bet on my teams but I certainly think that UTAH plus the points is the play here.

Not my POW however, I snatched UCONN -12 when it opened on Sunday. Unlinke mens/womenes hoops this UCONN/DUKE game will get ugly FAST!!!!!!

CAL LOOKED SO GOOD, THEY GOT AN AWESOME RB AND THAT QB IS FOR REAL.

SC WILL COVER THE NUMBER BY HALF TIME, COLORADO ST. DOESN'T HAVE A RUNNING GAME. THIS IS A PERFECT OPPONENT FOR PETE CARROLL!

MY BRUINS LOOKED BAD ON DEFENSE BUT WHAT COST THEM THE GAME WERE THE T.O.'S
EXPECT A BETTER PERFORMANCE THIS WEEK. THAT RB. O.S.U HAS IS REAL GOOD, HEARD IT WAS HIS 3RD STRAIGHT 200 YD GAME & HE'S 24 YEARS OLD. TOTAL MISMATCH WHEN YOU INCLUDE THAT SENIOR-LADEN O-LINE.
GLADLY WE WON'T SEE AN OFFENSE LIKE THAT IN PAC-10!

JohnnyB or anyone,

Do you know anything re: the line drop in the UCLA-Illini game. Illinois is the worst team in the Big 10. Can anyone make a case for the Illini? The last time I felt this confused was SC-Georgia when the line moved from 13.5 to 9 and Quincy Carter threw 4 picks to support his coke problem.

the more i look, the more i`m liking ucla...the line move is one thing.....and the rush defense obviously has issues....they are very thin on the "d' line....

but, imo, okie st is gonna run for a lot of yards on a lot of people...that "o" line and morancy are dominant...

ucla garnered over 400 yds total offense....4 turnovers did them in.....

this team has talent....the question in my mind is,does coach dorrell offset their obvious edge in talent here...

given the line move,i`ll take a shot,i think....

it`s a tough call with this coach......i wouldn`t go apeshit on this one....but i think a small to medium sized wager is reasonable...

i took stanford -3.....i like their returning talent and qb edwards is getting better and better...was a high school phenom....rb`s are back...some big, solid wide receivers...the back 7 on "d" is back...granted,a bad "d" last year...

i think stanford may sneak up on some folks...i think teevens is slowly turning this program in the right direction...never liked coach crowton....

like all of your picks bgold13, but I'll probably only bet these...

UCLA -- man that defense sucked @ss last week. However, the offense was sharp and should improve as Tab Perry gets more involved. The defense gets a couple of players back and has plenty of motivation from last week.

CSU -- it will take a few weeks before this team beats anyone by more than 3 touchdowns. The loss of WR Williams was huge and suspended running back Hershel Dennis won't return for another week.

UTAH -- agree...this team has impressed

would like to play on Cal, but 33 points is too much for me to spot

12:30 PST KRON TV- (BAY AREA ONLY.. NO DIRECTV)
CAL -33 vs NMSU

Cals defense really stiffened up against the option in the 2nd half... this is the same type team as air force but a downgrade.
Cal will be prepared and try and hold them under 10 points...
I dont think anyone here is worried about Cal not scoring 40 points.
I think Cal wins something like 52-7.. Tedford has no problem scoring on people... ask Baylor two years ago

UTAH -14 at Arizona 7:00 pst no tv

I touched on the fact AZ isnt good and Utah is aweseom earlier... Arizona is going to seriously need a huge game from Mike Bell their runnnig back. I have a hard time seeing this game staying close. Utah may be on a rampage and what better than get some revenge on Arizona from 2 years ago when the refs helped out the WildCats big time
PLAY OF WEEK UTAH

UCLA-ILLINIOS 9AM ABC
UCLA-3

The previous post were dead on... we all are aware of UCLA thin dline... But its the Bruins offense that has me playing UCLA in this game. I dont think Illinios is much better than last years team and UCLA is better than last years team.. I like UCLA -3 pretty big play

more write ups to follow

U of A beat UTEP by the exact same point margin last year...so I am taking this victory with a grain of salt.

That being said, I got to agree with bgold and go with the team with the better FG kicker.

bgold-I like the new defensive allignment and I really like how our DB's played (granted against it was against the Palmer brother who must have missed out on the QB gene, but still). If we had Oliver, this team would have a great pass defense. Golden sucks.

TCU is also highly overrated defensively, so I don't put too much stock into Basanez turning into the QB he was as a freshman...this should be a much bigger test for him.

Johnny... im going to be out in chicago for the asu/nu game but thanks for the invite:

I think Mark Carrier is making a huge difference in the ASU pass defense and I think they will be very good. I think the NU and Iowa games are going to define the Dirk Koetter era at ASU... go 0-2 and we will ahve a new coach next year.. 1-1.. and the loss better be to a grea iowa team... go 2-0... and asu shuold be considered a national player

ASU +130 at NU: Sat 9am pst ESPN2

ASU under Koetter have been terriible on the road wit the exception of the win at oregon a couple years ago... I'm not going to compare this team to last years team becasue everything went wrong for that team
NU will probably go for every 4th down inside the 40 on saturday.. They get the benefit of their no.3 wide reciever returning from suspension.. The o-line is much much bigger than ASU dline... NU put up tons of yardage against the crappy 4-2-5 defensive scheme that ASU had until this year.
Believe it or not ASU defense actually improved last year from the holiday bowl team: this years team added two jc's that made immediate impacts in thier first game.

The ASU offense will pass all over the NU pourous passing defense.. if ASU can get over playing at an early hour they will win

thats all I got.. good luck to all

I enjoy your write ups and I'm really liking OSU over BSU for +8.0. They looked really good against LSU and I know the majority of people think this is a let down game. I have been to several games at BSU and they do get alot of fans there but I don't think this team is as good as the past few years. Heck maybe even Notre Dame could be Idaho. I'm not impressed with BSU and their 3 returning starters. Besides +8.0 foir the beavers it
s worth dropping a unit on it.

Great luck

Utes by 30 pts.

Dax- I think the system Boise has in place allows them to basically plug in players and it odesnt maatter who they play. You never see boise players get drafted.

As a fan on the pac-10 i hope you are right... but in terms of my betting I just cant see OSU covering... good post.. just different opinion

with you on the utes at least!

UTAH BIG!

UTAH BIG!

Really like your picks especially Utah and UCLA. I'm on both big.

Utah -13 ? - Consider the fact that against Northen Arizona - at home no less, UA held a 7-3 lead with 10 minutes left in the game. If NAU didn?t turn it over 4 times, then UA may not have even won! They tacked on 2 late TD?s for a somewhat respectable 21-3 victory. NAU average 3.5 yds/carry, UA - 3.2 in the game. Think that if they are getting beat rushing the ball against NAU that they won?t be in a world of hurt against an offense like Utah?s with a running/passing QB? Or if AZ couldn?t muster an offense against NAU that it will show up against a team like Utah? - Who has also had extra time to rest and won?t take UA lightly since they are a Pac 10 team and they beat Utah 2 years ago. They are dying to make a statement against a Pac 10 team as all those Mtn West types are. Once Utah gets up, it will get real ugly as UA has no offense to speak of and Utah needs to make all the statements they can against BCS conf teams.

Also really like UCLA for reasons stated already.
