Thanks Jack. Found something, though it is not direct from Toronto to Denver to Vegas on the friday for $380US ($490CAN).. which isnt too bad.. then you need a hotel ...

If you leave from Buffalo is $215US($280CAN) but goes from TO-Atlanta-Vegas. $210 saving per person .. might be work the 1.5hr drive.. especially when there are more than 2 people coming..

Any recommendations for Hotel? Anyone like Fletch or Jack get a good deal on a hotel for the event? I want to come. Vegas should be a blast during the Superbowl.

Anyone else from Toronto thinking of going?? Maybe we can rent a bus to take us to Buffalo and to bring us back to Toronto. That should not be too expensive if we load the bus. I can get a bus which bills per hr and very reasonable.

They are all there and it is even better service now that the change over took place. If you have a problem email me.

They have there big privite party on fri. night jeri set it up it is her baby, The big man Robert Earl has one hell of a party list with him.

They planet hollywood is going to make it just a unreal place, will have the biggest shows on the strip with headliners. you will be treated like gold that was there number 1 meom on list, even though they did already now even more, and only people who were not safe was casino people because they sucked , but upper people like jeri in coneventions, and marketing , as well as food and bev are all kept because they made good money only casino sucked and that was due to poor layout and no strip entrance.

even lower down the line not deptmant heads ,were kept like your host, they just got rid of ceo for casnio and vp of casino operations and starwoods brought in their top people for hotel services. Conventions made more money from the opening till the turn over so they were very happy with Jeri & Billy and their staff of 80 people not one person got a bad review. I was happy for jeri but she was told not to worry by robert earl so even got more cash:D But they are pumping in 50 million the next 1.5 years to be a unreal resort and adding a 12,500 seat arena in the round for shows and boxing , they had the 6,200 preforming arts center but it was not in the round so hard for boxing and some shows, it will do very very well and you will be fine.

Isn't that the truth... CALIFORNIA is definitely the land version of beauty and the beast! You can go from some of most beautiful sites you'll ever see to plain dirt in like an hour or so... amazing land we got here.

Probably will catch the SW flight instead... just need to find someone to bring my bowling balls to me from here. Plenty of bowlers heading out that weekend, so I should have no problem.

See ya in FEB!!!!!

Hey Rander...just wonder where you are bowling at....perhaps Samstown or maybe Showboat....My dad used to own a bowling alley in Duarte and I use to bowl some leagues(I wasn't too great) and we used to go up to Vegas and bowl at Samstown...I used to have loads of fun up there...I will see ya at the SB party bro

I'll be bowling at SAM's TOWN, ORLEANS, TEXAS STATION, and possibly the Gold Coast. I'm entering at least 3 tournaments that week I'm sure of, possibly four, but I'm skipping SUNDAY in all of them. First place is $50,000 in two of em, $30,000 in one, and the other is $11,000 but it's handicap so I may skip it. I prefer to bowl scratch and just have to beat my opponent instead of him and his possibly inflated handicap!

Regardless of how I bowl, I'll be at the party for sure.... glad to see you're coming, my first time, so I'm looking forward to putting some faces on these screen names.

Good luck this weekend!

Kansas City area for who knows how long....
pre-trip info

pre-trip info

Rooms closest to Green Valley Ranch (GVR):

Green Valley Courtyard by Marriott, 3.59 miles away

Hampton Inn & Suites? Henderson, 3.71 miles away

Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Henderson, 3.76 miles away

Residence Inn By Marriott Las Vegas/Green Valley, 3.76 miles away

Doubletree Club Hotel Las Vegas Airport, 4.23 miles away

Fiesta Henderson Hotel, 4.73 miles away--at Fiesta Casino. The best budget option.

GVR has a free shuttle to the strip everyday, and is one of the rare casinos offering a regular airport shuttle run.

The standard rooms at GVR a bit small, but beautifully furnished with lots of extras such as free bottled water, larger than usual room safes, and extra comfortable beds.

GVR only has 200 rooms, but a 290 room tower supposed to open next month.

GVR is a very nice spa/resort/casino and folks used to the prices and service on the Strip will be very pleasantly surprised by the superb service, cleanliness and hospitality at GVR.

Excellent upscale shopping and eateries across road from GVR at The District

Reality show "American Casino" on Discovery Channel is about GVR and airs every friday night.

more pre-trip info: transportation choices

more pre-trip info: transportation choices

rental cars:

A $3/day fee is now assessed for each car rented at the airport to pay for a mega consolidated rental facility (opening 2006). This is in addition to the 27.5% tax on rental cars picked up at the airport! :scared

You can eliminate the $3/day and a 10% "airport usage fee" tax by picking up your rental car somewhere else.

One of the easiest places to do this the Dollar rental yard at 4755 Swenson. It's a cheap and easy 1.5 mile cab ride to not just save $35-$45 on a typical $300 rental----PLUS you also avoid dragging your luggage on that tram ride to the airport rental facility and a possibly long wait in line there.

Many Hotel/Casinos have a car rental counter on premises. Golden Nugget, NYNY, Luxor, Mandalay Bay and Bellagio have a Dollar, for example, and there is an Budget counter at Four Queens, Stratophere and Imperial Palace. Hertz is at Harrah's. The inventory at these sites (and lesser extent at Dollar's Swenson yard) are very limited so chances for free or easy upgrade is more difficult. Unless they allow you to reserve a Geo Metro, then you usually get upgraded free 'cause they rarely have those anywhere but airport!

This website has car rental discount codes worth trying---sometimes you get big savings.

An industry study few years back discovered that LV has the biggest variance in rental rates than any other US city--so it especially pays here to shop around.

Sometimes the off airport rental pickups cost more, and sometimes they fail to leave off the $3/day and the 10%, so be sure to double check.

If you do pickup rental at airport, try to get an upgraded membership at your rental agency (Hertz #1, Dollar Fastbreak, etc). Some are easy to get, such as Alamo's Quicksilver level, which just entails signing up online. These VIP memberships will enable you to avoid any long lines at the rental counter (typically 40 min wait on Thurs and Sunday afternoons).

Cabs:

GVR is about 6 miles from airport. Milage cost for cab ride about $19, plus waiting time at lights and such, plus tip. Should be under $30, but not by much.

GVR is directly down I-215 from airport, you exit on the Green Valley Parkway. Simple and direct. You will go thru the famous "tunnel".

Be on alert for "long-hauling" scams cabbies pull alot in this city. Or long-hauling and prostitution solicitation (tho some MJers might not mind that last "problem"). :142lmao: Just tell cabbie "I'm going once again to Green Valley Ranch Station Casino" and he'll know you ain't no rube.

If it's a long wait for a taxi (I've seen an hour wait on holidays!), grab a skycap and he'll take you and luggage to a waiting taxi ready to go (tip him several bucks), or take a shuttle.

Whiskey Bar?!! :drinky: This will be a Grrrreat Superbowl Party!! :spotting: :spotting: :Yep:
