I'm thinking that you are on the right side. It will be interesting to see if the Redhawks bring up 6 or 7 guys and try to force Hill to try to beat them deep, because the Herd has not demonstrated the ability to do so thus far.

Really like Miami to stay close in a fairly low scoring game.( by MAC standards) Yet, at the same time I find myself concerned with the officiating at Marshall. It seems that the herd always gets a ton of calls their way at home.

BTW: I just renewed my season tix for hoops this year about 15 minutes ago. I opted out of our front row tix and moved over to center floor 7 rows up. I'll try to get you down for another game this year.

small play on uconn in the 1st half tonight. pitt has been a slow-starting team this season and uconn should atone for their mediocre national tv effort a few weeks ago (at least for the first 30:00)

kdogg - i think that the indy game (like you said) has an impact on the line in this game. to me, oregon should be favored by 4 or 4.5 points. the final score was completely misleading (as the stats clearly show). i just cant trust asu on the road. for whatever reason, koetter just hasnt taught his guys how to win on the road yet, which is surprising because i think he is a very good coach. but they were awful on the road in the pac10 last season and their win in northwestern didnt exactly convince me theyve turned the corner. i just think when you take these two teams in a vacuum, oregon is at least FG better. throw in a significant home field edge and i think the ducks win by 6-10 points w/o question.

gman,

Hey how's it going? I noticed you have always been a solid capper in NCAA foots, somethin I'm not as sharp in. My specialty is NFL and bases. Anyway, I played Oregon and Toledo already, I like those plays especially Oregon now that I see the public is all over ASU. My question is how strong do you thin that Kent State Over 49 is?? I might play that too but was wondering if you like it as much as the other 2? If you would rate your big plays what would you rate them in terms of strength? Thanks a lot for all the hard work, much appreciated.

Best of luck G -- too many people that I respect on Oregon and too many question marks for me to stick with my ASU play. Best of luck with your entire card this weekend.

hopefully the following helps in some way.....toledo is my best play on saturday...but im playing those first three listed for equal amounts and larger than normal because im very confident those will go 2-1 at worst. i certainly capped them to go 3-0, but ill gladly take 2-1 if thats what it comes down to...i would suggest at least taking a flyer on the kent over 49 play.... because i think its the best total on the board saturday... i used to play all different amounts on my plays and rate from 1,2,3 units... but i found i was out-thinking myself and it was messing with my mind... ive always done well with college football, but ive just simplified it recently... if someone came up to me and said he wanted my best play, id give em toledo. if i was going to vegas and could only make one bet, it would be UT. if he said he wanted a few plays, id give em toledo, oregon, and kent over and feel confident they would make money at the end of the day. that may make sense, that may not, lol. gl on saturday kneifl. basically, my threads are my way of "thinking out loud" sometimes and trying to get some feedback from other guys. but when i post something as a 'bigger' play, then im comfortable that if someone happens to be thread-hopping and decided to take blindly tail a random play of mine, they would stand a much better than average chance of cashing that ticket, because ive done my homework on those bigger ones and over the years, theyve been very consistent. ive had my ups and downs just like any capper here and elsewhere. ive had my 0fer days and 1-5 stretches. ive also had my 9-2 or 10-1 runs. incidentally, i can flat out say my smaller stuff sucks right now. but ive had far more winners than losers when i step out and post something as a bigger play.

gman,

It's BobbyBlueChip, but I'm at my brother-in-law's house tonight and I'm not sure how to long off of his screenname. Basanez will play, but that arm was hanging when he came off the field. NW DT also referred to the OSU offense as mediocre and he said it in a complementary way (stating that they always find a way to win), but several of the OSU lineman have said that it's not a problem if someone calls you mediocre, but if someone calls you mediocre and you play for 60 minutes and they still have the same opinion, then there's a problem. Motivation can sometimes be where you find it, but this game still screams pass to me , but good luck, whatever you do. From the Sun-Times

Basanez gets OK to play vs. Buckeyes

September 30, 2004

Northwestern quarterback Brett Basanez has been cleared to play Saturday when the Wildcats host No. 7 Ohio State (8 p.m., ESPN2, 720-AM, 89.3-FM). However, Basanez, who sprained his right (throwing) shoulder last week at Minnesota, was kept from passing for a second straight practice Wednesday.

Freshman quarterback Chris Malleo, who directed NU's offense for three of four second-half possessions after Basanez was hurt against the Gophers, worked with the first string again Wednesday.

*Coach Randy Walker expects to split playing time again between running backs Noah Herron and Terrell Jordan vs. the Buckeyes. ''We need to have another guy emerge,'' said Walker, who will start Herron. ''What we're doing, I'm certain, is the best thing for our team. It's the best thing for Noah.''
