gman,
It's BobbyBlueChip, but I'm at my brother-in-law's house tonight and I'm not sure how to long off of his screenname. Basanez will play, but that arm was hanging when he came off the field. NW DT also referred to the OSU offense as mediocre and he said it in a complementary way (stating that they always find a way to win), but several of the OSU lineman have said that it's not a problem if someone calls you mediocre, but if someone calls you mediocre and you play for 60 minutes and they still have the same opinion, then there's a problem. Motivation can sometimes be where you find it, but this game still screams pass to me , but good luck, whatever you do. From the Sun-Times
Basanez gets OK to play vs. Buckeyes
September 30, 2004
Northwestern quarterback Brett Basanez has been cleared to play Saturday when the Wildcats host No. 7 Ohio State (8 p.m., ESPN2, 720-AM, 89.3-FM). However, Basanez, who sprained his right (throwing) shoulder last week at Minnesota, was kept from passing for a second straight practice Wednesday.
Freshman quarterback Chris Malleo, who directed NU's offense for three of four second-half possessions after Basanez was hurt against the Gophers, worked with the first string again Wednesday.
*Coach Randy Walker expects to split playing time again between running backs Noah Herron and Terrell Jordan vs. the Buckeyes. ''We need to have another guy emerge,'' said Walker, who will start Herron. ''What we're doing, I'm certain, is the best thing for our team. It's the best thing for Noah.''
