I have a poker question. I have not played on line and really am a beginner. I watch the poker tournaments on cable alot though.

One question I have. Since poker is body language and sunglasses and all that, how do you read poker players when you play on line ?
Or is it just a lucky crap shoot ?

thanks

Scott,

80 percent of the time someone that is staying is holding an ace, if an ace comes up on the turn and u r setting w/small pocket pair ur prob. beat.

Now tells online:

If they bet fast they have top pair, if they hesitate like say 8 seconds they are on a draw, and if they think about it for like 20 seconds get the hell out because they have the nuts.

Hope that helps, it works for me!

Soctt, I would agree w/ counting guy, and add that if you are playing party poker or poker stars watch out for flushes and straights, they come up at least 3 times more then if you are playing in person. So if you have top pair, running suits will happen or straights on line. Also people will call alot more online on a draw.

My bad beats of the day:

Have K 9 of diamonds

flop is 10 H, J D, Q S

I go all in, guy calls me with AA

of course the next card is a king! :cursin:

Next one, first hand of a $50 pot limit tournament, 212 people.

I get AA

push the pot up as high as I can, think 300 chips with everyone starting w/ 1500. One guy calls.

flop J H, 2 S, 8 D

I push it as high as I can, he raises me, I go all in. He calls.

4th street 5 C

He has J 9

What is 5th street, well I was the first one out of the tourney so I will leave that to you, and it wasn't a nine.

:moon: :cursin:

It was fun, I wish we could get more people in, I think if we pick a date in the future and give people enough warning that we could have a fairly large tourney 20-25 people???
