What is wrong with purchasing something like this...

I understand the size, but price and features and going to make it a centerpiece of the viewing room...

Projecting HDTV Projecting..

Personally, I'd consider the issue mentioned in the subject line to be a negative, but that's just me. I still use the 27 incher I got for $50 at a garage sale two years ago. I couldn't fathom paying that much for a TV. But if you can afford it... hey, why not?

Projection style tv. I'm not a huge fan, prefer the tube, think it offers a crisper picture from all viewing angles, but from straight on, the projection rivals it, and you can't beat the size/price!

Once you get HDTV, you'll never look at pictures the same again...I have it through my cable, but I'm sure satellite is almost the same...I'm fixin' to switch to satellite once my friend hooks me up with one of those cardless receivers...Anyway, for the price of the projection tvs, I honestly have no complaints at all...Best of luck...

Thanks Chopsticks, and all the others that chimed in.

IU know the view from the sides azre not Tube quality, but these newer ones are ot that bad at all, but the seating for this would almost all be straight on anyways.

So HDTV makes a dramtic view on the projections as well, that is good to hear.

I want a HUGE screen TV but do not feel like shelling out the %-10K I see out there for them, so looing for this to last at least 5-7 years until Samsung starts tomass produce it's 102 inch LCD screen which should drive the LCD prices down since they are cheaper to manufacture and cut from that size.

Any more opinions also welcome.

I just bought this exact same TV, the 51 incher.. I absolutely love it..Even w/o my HD hooked up, the picture is immaculate. Sound is even awesome w/o a home enter system hooked up
I would jump all over that, got mine at Conn's for 1399 on sale
