Did you know ..

> As you walk up the steps to the Capitol which houses the Supreme Court you can see near the top of the building a row of the world's law givers and each one is facing the middle who is facing forward with a full frontal view -- it is Moses and the Ten Commandments!

As you sit inside the courtroom, you can see the wall right above where the Supreme Court judges sit is a display of the Ten Commandments!

Patrick Henry, that patriot and Founding Father of our country said, "It> cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists but by Christians, not on religions but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ."

This dead cat of a thread should have stayed buried. Scott, I never quite figured out your point or how it connected with some of the random pictures.* If you want a Theocracy come out and say it, but don?t in the same tone back this war in Iraq that is fighting against such a government. Church and State with a healthy respect for both, that does not impede on one another. Scott, my misguided friend, such honor and respect is what this country was based upon.

Not your useless banter.

*Did you see that room ?for god? with the Zebra stripes? I didn?t know Dee Snyder was god. Maybe if there is ?room for Dee Snyder? in America, then there is room ?for Twisted Sisters in Heaven ?.

couldn't agree more. too bad the ten commandments aren't posted in public schools anymore..... now we have police officers and metal detectors..... :sadwave:

God should be presented in every school. it doesn't force one to accept it. the individual can decide to reject, but if it is never presented - their choice has been made for them.

Normally I wouldn't respond but I am in a festive holiday mood.

You see, the room with the zebra stripes was not God's room. Your interpretation may have come
from the right side of your brain or the left side may have failed you miserably.

The point is even people of wealth and status walking on Zebra skin, need God in their house.

But you can't have God in your house if there is no room for God. I know this is probably way over your head Blazer

What a bunch of fuhkin' hyprocrites!!!! What the hell kind of book do you use when the President gets swarn in or even better when a witness is swarn in during a trial? That's where our country has lost its morals. I'm not trying to impose religion, any form of religion, on anyone, but to me a strong religious background would deter from a life of crime (IN MOST CASES).

Scott I don't think you have given the other side a chance to make their point so with the help of their diety, the ACLU, I will attempt to make their point for them. You have to give liberal logic a fair shake----

We believe that the word God should not be spoken in schools but firmly believe the word F-ck should be allowed on airways.

We believe the boyscouts should not be allowed on public grounds we think gays would make much better use of tax payers money.

We support ACLU protecting our free speech and agree with their backing of child porn site NAMBLA.Child molesters have rights too! If you don't like it--don't log on.

and Christmas--bah hum bug--If 5000 in town want nativity scene on public grounds there might be 10 of us that don't--and we decide--same as gay marriages--who cares about how "we the people' vote--its our right and if you don't believe us ask the activst judges.

After all we can interpret consitutution as well as the majority--and while on the constitutions there are some things we like and some we don't--on this right to bear arms issue. Are you people stupid. If you would just take note we banned use of handguns in DC. years ago--it would take the most liberal geographic area in U.S. to accomplish this feat--but we are not done--we have more liberal areas--San Fran is next.If you don't believe us read the news below---but as you read it please disegard the FACTS -- In 2002 "all homicides" not just handguns totaled 72 in San Fran on the year--while during same year they had 438 aids cases.
So don't believe those conservatives that tell you,per above, to back gay marriage and want to ban handguns is more liberal iberal logic and don't dare agree with them that after ban in D.C. homicides continued to increase is proof guns don't kill people--people kill people--nonsense--they continue to try to confuse people with facts--its a known ploy of theirs.

San Francisco Considers Handgun Ban

Saturday, January 01, 2005

SAN FRANCISCO ? The city that bucked state law and sanctioned gay marriage (search) is now taking aim at the constitutional right to bear arms (search) by proposing a ban in San Francisco on private ownership of all handguns.

"When you get guns out of people's homes and off the streets, it means that that gun is not going to be used in a shooting that kills someone, whether a murder or an accidental shooting," said Chris Daly, supervisor of San Francisco.

San Francisco officials are pushing a ballot measure to prohibit just about everyone who isn't a cop, security guard or member of the military from having a handgun in their home or office.

Supporters of gun rights, however, say the ban would deny basic rights.

"What it's really about, the end game is, taking away civilians' firearms and depriving them of the most effective tool that there is for self-defense," said Chuck Michel, spokesman for the California Rifle and Pistol Association (search).

Despite state laws that prevent local governments from banning handguns, the city believes doing just that will stem a wave of homicides that's left 87 people dead this year.

Washington, D.C., banned handguns in response to its skyrocketing homicide rate in 1976. But nearly three decades later, it had more murders per capita than any other city its size.

Opponents are already planning lawsuits, but argue that even if it does pass, this ban won't stop crime as law-abiding citizens give up their guns while the criminals flock to a city that ensures they won't be shot at by the people they're robbing.

"And what's going to happen if this passes is people in San Francisco are going to be deprived of their ability to defend themselves," Michel said.

"I don't feel like I need to own a gun to protect myself. Certainly, I am a high-profile elected official and now a lot of gun owners don't like me individually, but if I'm in a situation where I feel threatened, I'll call the police," Daly said.
