Like Cincy to take it to my Hawkeyes as well, gman...

Gotta ask your take on Napoleon Dynamite. I liked it a lot and in fact watched it a 2nd time to be sure I caught everything; my wife hated it and I've talked to many who are not quite sure what to make of it...curious as to your thoughts on it...

i think the movie is absolutely brilliant. that said, it truly is one of those movies that you either think is hilarious....or totally friggin stupid. i think it has more memorable one-liners (or funny 10-second segments) than any movie ive seen in a long long time. plus, its one of those rare movies that i think is absolutely hilarious...yet doesnt have any profanity or sex or anything like that. and god knows i am a swearing machine and very loose with my tongue, so normally i get bored with movies that dont have 'an edge'. i think napoleon is great on a lot of levels. its got a ton of funny scenes and lines, but the movie and storyline are both believable, because those kinds of characters and outcasts are common at every school and we can all remember people just like 'em.

Instead of betting on UWM like every other chump-a$$ member of the media, why doesn't everybody who is planning on it give me their money and settle for a kick in the balls. Bama would prefer to run, as this team is among the nation's most athletic. The Tide wins this in a laugher b/c they are tired of everyone saying they will lose. Do any of you people even realize that this is the same exact team that went to the elite eight last year? Wait, not the same- better.

WE CAN ALL DEF. REMEMBER PEOPLE JuST LIKE THE GUYS IN NAPOLEON DYNAMITE THAT MAKE OUR YOUNGER DAYS SO MEMORABLE...

On a side note, you obviously are a tide fan, have you ever seen this UWM team play? Bama is NOTHING special away from home and I think that if they try to run with this UWM team they will get slaugthered...however, its good to see guys on bama..i hate bettin a team where everyone is on them :)

take a deep breath. now take another one. now step away from the computer.

if you read my post, never once did i say a bad word about alabama. perhaps you should read my post again. i just dont understand how people get so offended when someone bets against 'their team'.

fact of the matter is that there are plenty of media outlets that have projected alabama to go deep into the tourney. youre kidding yourself if you think its 'bama-against-the-world'.

sorry if youre offended by my wisconsin-milwaukee play. i must ask, have you seen wisconsin-milwaukee play? theyre better than the southern illinois team from last year that alabama beat by a single point in the opening round. and last i checked, alabama brought a pretty damn athletic team to the dance a few years ago (as a #2 seed i believe) and got punked by another midmajor from kent.

again, never once said alabama is a bad team. its that i think milwaukee is an excellent team playing in a familiar environment and having an excellent coach on the sidelines.

enjoy the game

Your Hawkeyes? Since when are they your Hawkeyes? Your the most Anti Iowa Hawkeye So Called Fan I have ever know.

Iowa will take an overratted Cincy team. I is a more determined team, play very well against non-conferance teams. Beat the best team in Conferance USA 2 times in the last two years, Louisville, Cincy cant even beat them once, what is cincy's record against top 25 teams anyways? 1-6 or something, thats overrated. Heck and decent team who plays defense could be the #1 defensive in the country if they played in that conferance. What was the final score to the Cincy -Northern Iowa game? Wasnt it llike 76-70 , in OT? Against Northern Iowa? A game cincy should of truely lost. I'm not saying this is a great Hawkeye Hoops Team , nor has it been a great hoops season, but I would be learing going against the Hawks in round one in Alfords stomping grounds, I think Iowa is the best DOG OF THE DAY. I'm playing the money line.

Later Reds fan!

montana
washington

i think this is a pretty intriguing matchup. not because i think montana stands a shot of winning, but because i think it could either be really close... or really ugly. i almost get the feeling that whomever covers the spead will do so by 8 or 10 points. big sky was kinda lame this year but montana is halfway decent and davis and criswell are both nice players. what scares the shit outta me though is that montana turns the ball over way too much (17 times a game). if they are careless with the basketball against washington, the huskies will bust it open and drop 100 on 'em. but if they are disciplined and play at their pace, i think theres a lot of pressure on washington as the #1 seed. its quite a jump to go from the 8/9 game last year to the 1/16 game this year. theyve earned their seed for sure, but im not sure this is a true 1/16 matchup. washington is still learning how to be a national power and montana is a semi-respectable 16 seed. a 79-72 final wouldnt surprise... but then again, 101-73 wouldnt be a shocker either. this will probably be the only 1/16 ill watch.

pacific
pittsburgh

should be a great one to watch and a tough one to bet. my lean would probably be to pacific. the one thing that i think is most glaring about pitt is that they have (deservedly) had a reputation for being a physical defensive team who could completely lock you down and take you out of your offense. but ive yet to consistently see that defensive effort from pitt this season. they have some better shooters than theyve had in the past but their calling card should still be their defense, and it just hasnt been there consistently this year. i think this is a good draw for pacific. they met every challenge teams from the big west threw at them after they entered the top 25. tigers dodged a couple of bullets but still got the job done until the conference tourney final. cant really fault pacific there though. utah state was just on a mission and wouldnt be denied a tourney berth.
certainly wouldnt be an upset by any stretch for pacific to advance. gonna sit this one out until halftime but might very well add UofP at the break

birmingham
louisiana state

hate to be on the fence with so many but this is another coinflip. when both teams bring this A-game, i actually think uab is much better. if the blazers establish their tempo and make it a full-court game, then that will really test lsu's depth out west in boise. lsu can be so good...or so mediocre. im putting uab through in all my brackets but probably wont be better anything on the blazers. hopefully uab carries over the momentum from their tourney run last year but not uncommon for those kinds of teams to flame out early the next year.

utah state
arizona

utah state clearly a sharp play, but i think the current line is almost un-bettable. aggies could be right there the whole way, take a couple cheap fouls and lose the cover in the final 1:00. think its almost better to play the moneyline than the spread. probably sounds ass-backward but i think that usu is either gonna frustrate zona so much that the cats will get bounced.....or arizona will have just enough athleticism to hold off utah state and cover the number late. no doubt utah state has become the 'chic' upset pick for the first round, but that doesnt mean its necessarily a bad thing. this is just a bad draw for arizona. love the way utah state hits the glass and defends the basketball.

"the bunker"
figured i`d skip over to see who you were looking at in the tourney......even though i leave it alone during the season, tourney time gets the juices flowing again....

hope you don`t mind if a c.b. lurker coattails a play or two......

btw....you guys hit the jackpot with phil savage....i was hoping you`d take ozzie and we`d get a draft pick.....i really think that savage was the straw that stirred the drink.....

give it some time...he`ll almost certainly turn it around for the brownies....and baxter will be an excellent safety...he`s a little to big and stiff to be a shutdown corner...

best of luck in the tourney...

Hey Gman, another Bama fan here, love your reasoning and insight, but total homer i gotta go with my boys here :)

If its not too much i am in for a wager UWM +2 vs my guys.

I don't post enough to make an avatar wager, but i see where other guys do hats, i am down for that.

Personally, i prefer a visor, but let me know.
And if not, i understand that also.

Good luck in the tourney, always check your threads your insight is always helpful.

id prefer a visor myself, so no problem there. with a visor on the line, i gotta grab the hook though and ask for +2.5, lol. for an avatar, im willin to take 2 flat. let me know if that works. enjoy the game tomorrow. again, no disrespect to bama. just think uwm is legit and has a familiarity edge with the venue.

I understand completely, i've never felt like you are biased in your reasoning.

I will step and take my guys -2.5
I can't bet real money on this cause i admit to being totally biased.
What visor you wanting (i mean as far as color and that thing) And what am i possibly gettin in return?

I'm online herbadale on aolim if you want to discuss it there, and we can just post the results or whatever.
Just let me know

Nice work G-man!! Thanks.....I do agree with Sun Tzu. What the heck is that avatar??? I apologize if it's family or friends, but it's just a little "off" in a sports forum. It did make me laugh!
