Do I pay $33k (US/year for 3 years) and head out to Notre Dame or go to Villanova on a full ride (free tuition).

I have to make my mind up by May 19th...

...that wouldn't be a hard choice for me, old friend...but then again, I wasn't born of Royalty. :)

...my old back-woods country ass went to Memphrica because of the full ride...and while I wanted to go (and was accepted) to Vandy or UVA, I don't regret not having a single student loan to repay after graduation.... Plus I made a lot of good friends in old memphis.... Nope, wouldn't go back and redo that decision if given the chance.... ;)

...you only get out of your education what you put into it and I ain't talking about tuition payments. :)

Doctor:

Look at it this way, do you want to pay 33k to live in South Bend, Indiana or 0k to live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvannia. Furthermore, on Friday nights in May in Phillie you can choose between the Phillies, 76'ers, Flyers (maybe) or a dyke softball game in Bensalem. In South Bend, your limited to the South Bend Batrats hosting Peoria.

By the way, I thought you were in law school in Toronto. Whats up with this.

You meant that little Canadian pervert is gonna try to come down here and steal our clients. Tao its time we put a stop to this. I want to seal up our borders so that no more lawyers are allowed into this country. Don't we have enough lawyers already. Scumball, ambulance chasers. I think this is the first time I've ever agreed with Gardenweasel.

For me personally, the decision would be a no-brainer. Both financially and location.

But what's your gut feel? Gotta follow that.

the fact you were offered and earned a full scholarship at a fully credentialed university is an honour to be reflected on any career building resume..

i am sure you could use that 100 K on something more to your liking.;)

If you was a pedophile I'd say go to Notre Dame....then you could claim alumni status with "The Notre Dame Fighting Pedophiles".....

Since you're not studying to be a priest......

Go to Philly and in your spare time watch sports teams that suck...

Doc, most of us here are under the impression your family has money, maybe jumping to conclusions, but nevertheless, if 100K is not that big of a deal I go to ND without thinking twice. Having a law degree from Notre Dame on your resume has to look pretty damn impressive to potential employers and I would think it would more than make up the differnce in the cost of the two choices.

I'd say Notre Dame. Granted you will save money, the living costs in Philly area would be more than in South Bend. Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't Law School ranking have a lot to do with your starting income once you get your degree??

I read Notre Dame was 24th ranked law school and Villanova 23...with living cost difference and the higher salary you will most likely get from Notre Dame you will quickly make up the difference in tuition.

PLUS...the biggest reason...I heard Notre Dame girls put out more than Nova girls....that from my brother in law, who went to Nova ;)

Good luck with whatever decision you make Anthony, let us know.

If my be so bold---what is the decision here?-(and this has nothing to do with the scholarship are money)....You should take Nova hands down-the reason you have a far better chance landing a job straight out of Law School in the States going to to Nova than ND---Philly law firms have been recruiting from Nova for a 100 years-Philly law firms are some of the most monied firms in the WORLD---"the Main line" money there is incredible---live in King of Prussia, 5 minute drive to school-not that expensive to live as you may think..........

I think that depends on where he wants to settle down (if he even knows). If he wants to return to Toronto, a Notre Dame degree likely carries more weight (probably in Chicago, as well). But yes, if he wants to live on the East Coast, Nova is without question the way to go. You're going in saving 100k.
