Go to NOTRE DAME!

Then you can hook me up with USC/ND tickets for football. :) I always wanted to go to a USC/ND game in South Bend!

No question, Go to ND, get the blue ring and don't work the rest of your life, just network.

Q:1,000 people in a room, how do you know who went to Notre Dame?

A: He'll tell ya!

Good Luck in your decision, but if you have the money to invest in your future, going to ND will pay itself off 5 years after graduation.

I have an old high school buddy who went to Notre Dame for his undergrad study. Everytime he came back home, all he talked about were those ****in' Irish. Very annoying. Anywho, giving an answer from us middle class people who had to get student loans to go to college, I say go with the free ride. If you can spare to piss away that kind of jack, then go to Notre Dame. Either way, both schools are what you make of them.

Speaking of high cost schools. I saw this guy wearing a t-shirt during spring break in Daytona Beach when I went my sophomore year in high school and til this day, I still remember it. On that shirt it said, "The Top 10 Reasons To Go To Dartmouth." The #1 reason stated, "My Parents Have Nothing Better To Do With $35 Grand A Year." Now noted, that was back in 88'-89' so I'm pretty sure the cost has gone up since then.

Seems like you got a good head on your shoulders, Doc. Though it appears you are quite a prevert. Best of luck with whatever your decision.

Whatever decision you make, you can't go wrong. Both schools are going to provide you with a stellar education. You just to have to figure out if you want to spend the next 5-10 years after you graduate, paying off loans. If you choose the free ride, buying a house, car, etc will be much easier for you. Hell, I didn't even go to a good college and it still took me 4 years to pay back my loans. Ultimately if I had to choose, I would choose Villanova(FREE MONEY IS THE BEST KIND OF MONEY). The stress level will be lower for you as well. Money will be one less thing you'll have to worry about. Good Luck with your decision Dr.!

Look at it this way, do you want to pay 33k to live in South Bend, Indiana or 0k to live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvannia. Furthermore, on Friday nights in May in Phillie you can choose between the Phillies, 76'ers, Flyers (maybe) or a dyke softball game in Bensalem. In South Bend, your limited to the South Bend Batrats hosting Peoria.

By the way, I thought you were in law school in Toronto. Whats up with this.

update: I have also been considering Hofstra and Syracuse with Hofstra offering $15k a year in scholarships, and Syracuse offering just over $23K. Basically it all comes down to where I feel most comfortable. Granted, ND is the highest ranked of all my available options, but I plan to open up my own practice up here. In terms of finding a job when I graduate, that is not a concern as I will have a job as soon as I get out. I will be visiting Villanova campus on Thursday and then plan on heading to Syracuse on Friday. I should have a better idea as to where I'll be attending after my campus visists, meeting the school's administration and faculty. I have visited South Bend and though it was a nice tight knit community, other than football and basketball games, the town is a dump and there ain't much to do. I have been hearing good things about Syracuse and hopefully I can have them ante up the amount of $ their offering.

I'll post further details when I get back. Whoever said selecting a school isn't stressful.....

Location-wise:
- Notre Dame is in the middle of nowhere - I visited there
- Syracuse is snow, snow, snow - I used to hang there
- Villanova is near Philly - that's Philly (ugh) - I live here
- Hofstra - LonggIsland (double-ugh) - I avoid there

Maybe that's why they are good schools. No distractions.

Actually, all of a sudden Notre Dame doesn't look so bad.
