I particularily really liked the Oscar winner, "The Dirty Dozen", 1967............ early Lee Marvin, Ernest Borgnine, Donald Sutherland, (as Pinckley is as funny as they come in a dark war movie) Telly Savales, Charles Bronson, Jim Brown, Robert Ryan, John Cassavetes , George Kennedy (also in Cool Hand)& many others. Something is wrong with ya'll if'n ya don't like this one.
Also previously mentioned "Cool Hand Luke" and "French Connection". Can also add "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest"..........great Jack Nicholson.

I just rented and watched an old movie called "The Warriors." Very good movie. I think it was made in the 70's.

Since this is a gambling site, thought I mention 2 gambling movies I recently seen that I thought were very entertaining. Never heard of them before but someone recommended them to me and they turned out to be entertaining and glad I watched them.

"The Big Town" and "The Runner"

My 2 favorite black and white movies are.......

"Pride of the Yankees"

&

"It's a Wonderful Life"

I'm thinking of switching too volfan. Hell, I belong to Netflix and the wife is a member with Blockbuster! I'm hearing good things. I really don't have anything bad to say about Netflix. I think I'm paying $19.95 per month and I know BB is less.

Watched "Aviator" Monday night. It was okay I guess. I think I was expecting, "Oh my God that was great!". It was good though. The plane crash scene was incredible!

Still need to watch "Citizen Kane".

How about the old man, when that kid finishes playing the violin and he sees him grab that stick you play the violin with(I have no idea what the Hell that thing is called, therefore,"the stick") with his finger coming out of his fly.

"He grabbed it with his deek!"

Movies from the 70s are "older", Scott4USC? What are you, 19? Thanks for making this 40 year old feel old...lol

A couple of ones that I think are "older" films

" Some like it hot" (1959) w/ Jack Lemmon,Tony Curtis and Marilyn Monroe

"The Philadelphia Story" (1940) w/ Cary Grant, Jimmy Stewart and Katharine Hepburn

"Maltese Falcon" (1941) w/ Humphrey Bogart, Mary Astor and Peter Lorre

DickyV--

Loved those two flicks you mentioned. Also gotta toss out "Heavy Metal" along those same lines. Not as intense as those two, but still a fun movie...

I have to agree with Sonny and Eddie on Witness for the prosc. A real winner. Here are some of my favorites.

Some Sonny would like.

Boxing----------- The Raging Bull

Requiem for a Heavyweight

Some One up Their Likes Me-- A little corny but then Rocky was not a Rhodes Scholar

City for Conquest--Jake I can't believe any one remembers this, and I was born during the depression.lol

Westerns

The Ox Bow Incedent A real classic with a young Henry
Fonda, Anthony Quinn, Dana Andrews.

They Died With their Boots On A young Quinn and Eroll Flynn.

Viva Zapata One of Brandos best. Anthony Quinn wins a best supporting award for this flick.

War For Whom the Bell Tolls A beautiful young Ingred
Bergman

All Quiet on the Western Front Allies and Germans singing "Holy Night" to each other from trenches during WW1.

Attack I hated Eddie Albert {Who just died at the age of 99} after seeing this movie.

Stalag 17. Calssic line " Goot Morning Sargents "

Tear Jerker "Imitation of Life"

A beautiful woman-- "One Touch of Venus" A Young Ava Gardner.

Thats My Selections Ciao Il Duce.
