I'm thinking of switching too volfan. Hell, I belong to Netflix and the wife is a member with Blockbuster! I'm hearing good things. I really don't have anything bad to say about Netflix. I think I'm paying $19.95 per month and I know BB is less.

Watched "Aviator" Monday night. It was okay I guess. I think I was expecting, "Oh my God that was great!". It was good though. The plane crash scene was incredible!

Still need to watch "Citizen Kane".

I have used both Netflix and Blockbuster for the past seven months. I just switched back to Blockbuster today after using Netflix solely for the past three months. I live in Sparta and Netflix used to arrive from Bowling Green in 1-2 days. Now, it is 3-4 days. Blockbuster is pretty consistent in making it to me in two days from Atlanta. Plus, it's two dollars cheaper per month and the two free rentals. That means more movies at a cheaper price for me.

I've used them for mainly collecting and copying series such as the Sopranos, Cheers, Curb, & Deadwood (recently). This thread has me adding some older movies which I have neglected in trying.

Cheers

A excellent western is 'The Gunfighter' starring Gregory Peck. Another is 'El Dorado' staring John Wayne, Robert Mitchum and a young James Caan.

Your right again Jake, body and soul was a great early boxing movie with John Garfield. Douglas in the Champion was also a great boxing movie. Paul Newman played nurtso Rocky Graziano {Rocco Barbella}in Someboby Up There Likes Me. Rocky was in a class by himself. Ciao Il Duce.

i saw a newer movie on cable the other night....it was called "Spartan"...with val kilmer(who i don`t particularly like)....

but,the plot was a little different from the usual garbage...somebody gave it some thought......finally,somebody in hollywood came up with something a little different......

an excellent thriller..some nice plot twists....

time well spent....

Topdago.....

I've never seen a Rocky movie yet....not one. A friend of mine called me up one night to tell me to put the channel to ?? because one of them was on. He thought the dog in the film was a Bullmastiff like I had. I never put it on....Not a Stallon fan at all. Take care

Stalliion has been in some pretty awful films but Rocky really is good. Just ignore the others. Well, Two is ok also. Actually, considering the topical relevance of today, a movie he did with Billy Dee Williams and Rutger Hauer called 'Nighthawks' was damn good too. Played a NY Cop after a terrorist. Always considered it the only other really good film he was in.

Speaking of boxing movies, there was this one about a ex Soviet fighter who trains two young Olympian hopefuls. The name totally escapes me but one of the young fighers was Wesley Snipes if I remember correctly. It has been awhile since I saw it.
