Hello all from shitbag Iraq or should I say Baghdad.
First off Jack thank yuo so much for posting and thank you too the members for your well wishes and your support.
I don't have many oppurtunites to write the board since most of our web access is thru a .mil server so we cannot access anything outside military sites.
The reason I asked for help was that many soldiers receive hardly anything here and I share with all whether it is a can of spam :mj21: or some aspirin I am like a walking px here. I give all to fellow soldiers thru others support.
Also we give some to the less fortunate Iraqi children and families as they live in total dissarray everyday. Pretty much all do here. . They also help us out very much with info and guidance as far as where IED'S may have been placed the night before.
To give you an I dea of what a day is like I will use this morning for instance:
I had my first day off today since I arrived in May. I woke up today to 4 mortar rounds for breakfast. Everyday is a mortar day for us. I have gotten so use to it that now I don't even flinch I head for the bunker for cover. But usually we cannot here the rounds come in. We have warning devices in place but as usual they went off 5 minutes after the last round had hit.
Since my letter to Jack some incidents have occured, this is how fast you can see someone today and gone tomorrow in this place, but we are still here, all 4,000 plus.
Yesterday 2 humvee's where destroyed by IED'S with minor injuries one still has the M-16'S in it melted to nothing, with one giant hole in the cargo area.
We have also lost 2 bradleys due to IED'S and they basically melt to nothing. Even with all the armor on these tracks and up armored vehicles large IED'S shred them like nothing is there. But we still have not lost one soldier yet

which is pretty amazing considering how short we and how many missions we are running. Most work non stop with lil rest.
I know it may seem petty to some but if any can help at all you'd bring a smile to many and I will not let it be forgotten from where it came from.
I appreciate all you support and be proud of your boys overseas and pray that we all come home safely one day soon.
I will write again when I can but It maybe sometime before then lol.
Thank you again
