need help on tv research

i am shopping for a new tv. need help in the research. any coments suggestions or the best internet sites to do the research. hdtv a must ! trying to learn the difference between plasma, lcd, and more.

just bought a 42 in panasonic plasma...simple guide to hdtvs is to do it by size

less than 40in go LCD
40-50in plasma
over 50in rear projection dlp

i might be able to help with some other questions...avsforum is a good place i read a bunch of threads and posted some questions...only thing is though they're real sensitive over there if you ask a question thats in a posted thread or "sticky thread" they will not answer it...they might give you the link or just tell you to look for it...my advice figure out the basics so you dont sound like the idiot in the forum and then ask some questions

Thanks agent 0659 for the link. The info there is perfect, and GM your the man. I was at HH GREG today and your info would put there sales man out of a job. i saw the picture quality today but of course everything there is broadcasted in hd. i knew i saw questions on tv's in the past on this site just didn't have the time to search. I have viewed this site for awhile but never contributed but knew i would get help by joining. hopfully i can be as helpfull to others as well in the future. :) :)

when you decide what you want check out 6ave.com they have real competitive prices i got my plasma msrp $4k for $2700 and they have basically free shipping which usually is anywhere from 150-300 dollars on other sites
