Evidently Britain sent over a few tons of food for the flood/hurricane victims. Of course, our FDA boys decided that the food didn't meet their standards and had the food destroyed. This is the same food that is fed to their soldiers. Unbelievable....

Don't know specifics, but should see the papers tomorrow. Maybe what they say about British food is right - tasteless.

i was just wondering if there was some type of intercontinental issue. i get jammed up between counties in san diego with fruit inpections. Hawaii has grotesquely strict animal and plant quarantine standards. just wondering if there was something like that in that particular situation that made things appear that we stuck our noses up in the air at foreign aid. if it is exposed as such i shall shun whoever is resposible. even if the facts end up with the current administration.

New Orleans police have received multiple complaints that donations aren't reaching storm victims in the area and now they say they've found one of the culprits. Officers searching the home of Cedric Floyd (search), the chief administrative officer for the New Orleans suburb of Kenner, found four truckloads worth of food, clothing and tools meant for Katrina victims. The police plan to file charges against Floyd, who was in charge of distributing the goods in his area, as well as other city workers, but in the meantime, the "evidence" in the case will be distributed to victims of the storm.

I know a guy who offered 100 jobs in Houston to these victims.

He got a total of 5 applicants.

lol

You can bet that the majority of these folks will not lift a finger in helping restore their city. No, the government led by Socialist GWB will do it all.

Just for the record, it has not always been this way.

Sure I am all in favor of help, but lets get these people who live there a shovel, a pitchfork, and some garbage bags and pay THEM to do it. Let them take a little pride in WORK for once. Let them see the benefit of a hard day's work.

THAT is the solution to getting these people out of poverty. Teach them how to WORK HARD. But GWB and other liberal socialists would rather give them everything and take away all human drive to achieve, build up, accomplish, overcome, etc. etc.

It is astounding to see the result of 50 some odd years of failed socialist policy as we have in NO then see our leaders cry for more of the same.

Might as well burn our money as GWB and other leftists in the republican and democratic party give it away in pork. It is losing all value.

i don't have a solution, freeze, and i'm not going to debate it. i stay out of this forum, as you know, but your solution is racist based, period.

you gonna get your grandmothers' a shovel, pitchfork and some garbage bags should the same unfortunate thing happen to them?

get real.

obviously i am not talking about the old and infirmed

no, i will take care of my own family thank you however that may be

my solution is to teach these people how to work and let them take pride in doing so

after decades of failed policy, i dont see that as unreasonable....all i see is a horrible outcome as a result of taking away human will

not sure why you would interject accusations of racism

i believe these folks are capable of working just like anyone....unfortunately, they have been kept down by social programs dehabiliting them
