On the course!
I have spotted a couple of nice wagers at Olympic for tonight.

1 unit:

Green Bay Packers vs Carolina Panthers
First team offense to cross 50 yrds line(midfield)

Carolina Panthers (-135)

Packers live for the "three and out" in their first drives. That being the case, if they receive the kickoff, they should puke it over on downs leaving Carolina decent field position. If Carolina gets the ball first, I expect them to be able to drive past the 50.

1 unit:

Green Bay Packers vs Carolina Panthers
Will a special teams or defensive TD be scored

Yes (+145)

It's only a matter of time until Brett heaves up one of his, "running right, jump and throw, gimmies" on his own 5 yard line. Tonight looks like a solid night for that! At any rate....the Packer Special Teams is ready to give up an 80 yard return every week! I feel it's worth a shot.

3 unit play:

Green Bay Packers vs Carolina Panthers
Team to have the longest kickoff return in game

Carolina Panthers (-110)

Simple. Green Bay is the league champ when it comes to "Holding" and "blocking in the back" on kick/punt returns. I see at least two or three attempts getting called back, which gives Carolina a huge edge. PLUS, Green Bay is lousy at coverage the other way!

1 Unit:

Green Bay Packers vs Carolina Panthers
Player to score first touchdown in the game

Robert Ferguson (+1000)

The way I see it, he's the best over all threat for the Pack. Sure, the Packers might not be the first team to score, but if they are....10-1 is a pretty sweet gig!

I lost the first one, Jack. The offense had to sross the 50, and Green Bay did it the second time they had the ball......The irony? Had they just sacked him, the Packers would have punted the ball to about the Carolina 40!

Lost the first TD prop, as well.

would like to see a rule on that one, yyz. fuk "crossing", they were the first to operate on the other side. lucky for the other side on that bet. that blows.

I know this is after the fact but I hit this one at OLY

Oct 3 7:57pm Football - Winner *********
1. Football Propositions - Monday Night NFL Props October 3, 2005
Green Bay Packers vs Carolina Panthers
Team to receive the opening kickoff in the game
Green Bay Packers (+120) [winner]

I would think this would be essentially a "who wins the coin flip bet" that we usually see at -120 both ways, unless the team had some tendency to defer kickoffs??

When I saw +120 thought it was great.. Would do it again.. Can't remenber what Panthers were but I think -150... stood out to me 4 sure

Could happen but that doesnt seem like near enough value in defense/special teams td. Even with the worst teams it doesnt happen often enough for that price I would think
