The final measure was 8'7" of water in our subdivision. I measured 6' up the wall in the bedroom.
As you will see the overriding "theme" for 2nights pictures is
!!!!MOLD!!!
It absoutely took over everything in the house and the smell, with a mask over my face kept me in the house for 10 minutes at a time.
Soooooo,
Spencer had a hard plastic toybox which floated up with the water and then down. That was the ONLY thing salvagable from 6 years in the house.

I have to say it was 5 times as bad as the pictures show and what I would have expected.
I guess I really didn't know what to expect, maybe a foot or two of water
would be able to salvage most things that were higher up,
but three weeks in a house with 6 feet water, no windows open and heat index around 100 degrees, the whole house is a
petri dish!!!

Sir-I feel for you and i must say i wonder how many people -kids and ederly-will get sick from trying to live again in the Mold and Mildew spores that must infiltrate every where.....please be careful-you and your family are in my thoughts.....

lawtchaw-man, boggles my mind what you`re going through.
Hell, I`am upset if power goes off for a few hrs. & my sump
pump can`t kick on with 1 or 2 inches of rain. You sound like
a upbeat positive guy & that`s a great attribute to have.

that's all I can do is keep a positive outlook.
my familly and friends made it out safe, and llike i've said before, material things can be replaced.
there are alot of people worse off than me. My only regret is I didn't pack more personal items from the kids. ie all there pre-k, kindergarden work, pictures, etc.
that can never be replaced.
but, hell, i figured i would only be gone a few days at most.
