OK MR CLEMSON!!!!!
I will explain myself, since YOU requested it.. I have no depth chart on Clemson, so seeing that they usually post injuries to people who actually play the game, I was concerned that no-one had seen the obvious. My mistake, however it is still pertinent information to the average person. What happens when one of your linemen go down this week against one of the best D's in the country? Depth becomes an obvious problem at that point, I'm sure you would agree.
Offensive lineman Christian Capote (foot) is doubtful for Thursday s game against North Carolina State. Defensive lineman Dorell Scott (leg) is questionable. Offensive lineman Chris McDuffie (calf) is probable. Wide receiver Kelvin Grant (knee) and tight end Cole Downer (spleen) are expected to miss the remainder of the season.
Why would I think this team will fold against NCST..
#1) A loss to perenial loser Wake Forest would be one Big reason.
When you lose to a team that you were suppose to dominate and then have to wait a week to play again, then it's like a wound that continues to fester and puss. Your mental state is being challenged. With 18 to 21 yr old kids this theory is magnified. You get one bad call or you go 3 and out for a few possesions and your done. It's what I call the "Here we go again" theory.
#2) Your Defense..
Contrary to your remark that in all five games they have overcome deficits. The defense has been unable to bail the team out recently, such as when they surrendered 10 points, including the deciding touchdown with 33 seconds showing on the clock at Wake Forest. Clemson is allowing 61% completion rate to opposing QB's this yr.
#3) NCST's D..
They gave up a whoping 20 pts to VT this yr. and only gave up 14pts to another ranked team last week in GT. DO you really believe you'll put up 24pts on a Defense that won't allow you to run the ball. They've given up just 3 rushing TD's and just 3ypc. I don't care if you have all your starting linemen or not, you won't run against this D. Once they stop the run they only give up 40% completion rate to thier opponents with 5 ints and 4 scores..
#4) Trends..
I'm a believer when it comes to trends and my sources tell me that this scenario has come up twice already this season and is 2-0 SU and ATS. Non-Saturday road underdogs off scoring and allowing 27+ points are 0-9 SU & ATS in Games 3-10 vs. opponents not off a road OT SU loss. This is significant, because they lost to WF in the last 33 seconds. Tough road loss and then have to travel to a great defensive team.
#5) Revenge..
Before I bore you with the details of this reason, let me first say that you were correct when I falsified last yr's score on ESPN. What I should have typed was that last time these two met on Thursday Nights ESPN game NCST BLEW them out 38-6. Last yr NCST was going in for the win at the 4yd line when they threw an Interception to end the game. Talk about a bitter loss. NCST outgained Clemson 255-185 and had 6 TO's. Tonight they're at home and I just don't see another performance like that in Raleigh..
#6) Home Field
If I know Raleigh, they've already started tailgating since Sun Rise. They'll be rockin' tonight..
I must say, this was a first after over 3 yrs of being on this site. I've never been called ignorant or a liar before, but I understand the sensitive nature for your paws and yes I did quote the wrong date to which Clemson was BLOWN out, however I didn't post something that could be construed as a LIAR, Ignorant maybe, but certainly not a LIAR..
