It was obvious. Everything he does is staged. This was done a tad too shabby. Poor guy can't get a break.

I saw the video conference when he did it, but don't understand the 'staged' part. How was it represented, I don't remember? It seems like something like that would have to be staged.

Supposedly the questions were known ahead of time, etc etc.

He should do more suprise visits like that Thanksgiving dinner a couple years ago. Everyone liked that - and it came off very genuine.

I think that should be assumed. I don't see the big deal. The questions he would ask those troops would be just as predictable as their answers whether they knew the questions beforehand or not.

Yeah. I remember how well Kennedy exchanged witty banter with the press...effortlessly discoursing on the issues of the day...quoting Cicero, etc...There was no way that he did that without a script. :)

Make no mistake. This event was staged...the setup and commentary was taped and played on several stations today. The thing that is wrong about this is that Bush could not stage a damn thing. He might fall OFF a stage, but he could not organize answers for others. He has none himself.

The only thing I've seen him try to stage is the Iraq mess.

ONE DAY CHENEY WILL NEED A HEART TRANSPLANT--but when the open him ,he'll have none .

ONE DAY CHENEY WILL NEED A HEART TRANSPLANT--but when the open him ,he'll have none .

He and Cheney are trying to stage Brinks heist of Social security money.

I'm phucking tired of this phucking scam artist and his rotten father too. Biggest bunch of Texas Marauders and their thieving cronies.

Yeah..he suddenly woke up one morning and his calling was to liberate Iraqui people. :sadwave:

"I don't remember another President staging a press conference with soldiers?"

You might want to define "staged" The only bitch I can see is it gave GW the talking points he wanted to achive(like most politicians) .

I find it odd that so many refer to this as staged yet do not refer to Larry King-Barbara Walters and others interviews as staged??
I think people would be surprised how many politicians from both sides will not do interview without knowing and controling format in advance.

Absolutely agree, DTB. I don't consider this that big a deal, although he has obviously stepped up his public appearance schedule and photo op schedule to combat his failing popularity. The degree in which this one was scripted is nothing I would not have expected with this guy from day one. If anyone voted for him thinking he was a deep thinker that could communicate his thoughts well on a public stage, then you were not paying attention. A lot of politicos do this. ESPECIALLY the ones that are not comfortable speaking in public - or are able to convey thoughts. Clinton was a master at public discourse, though...I don't think he needed much help in this area.
