Help - everytime i open explorer i get a pop up from winfixer even when i close the window it changes my screen to the winfixer home page.
How can i remove this from my computer, I have already deleted all the cookies, internet file, and history in hopes of removing, but none of it works
Thanks

Funny... my mother just asked me about that same problem yesterday. no matter what I advised her to do, we couldn't get rid of it. If I can't figure it out I might reformat the hard drive.

If I figure it out this weekend, I will post it here... hope someone has some insight.

right click on Internet Explorer

under 'general' tab, you may have had the ''winfixer'' internet address placed in your home page address

if so copy and paste the url and click on 'privacy' tab and enter url and click on "block site" tab.

then, copy and paste the url you want back into the box and click 'Use as Default"

this should restore your homepage.

Hope this helps

this is a recent and common pest, sooner or later the adware/spyware killers will have a patch for it

try deleting or disabling wintools. the winfixer is automatically pulled up if the wintools is present.i deleted mine somehowwhen i was drunk. since then, winfixer has not popped up again. my laptop works well w/o the wintool enabled.

Jack, i get pop-ups from here almost every time i enter....... don't think it is FROM here, but from something else i have gone to (such as a sponsors site possibly) that puts up pop-ups every time you go to a site with the word *gambling* in it. (for example)

you guys that get pop ups when visiting here should run ad-aware or spybot because you are not getting pop ups from this site.

or, get drunk like elvis did and start deleting shit off your computer. that'll fix it :D
