All I know is that all the big favs have been winning the last few weeks. My pool is down to 8, but nobody eliminated the last three weeks. BEWARE there is always a weekend where a bunch of big faves all lose. It is coming soon.

Well here we go again fellas

Washington is an easy winner for Week 7. The dogs haven't been barking loud and clear this year so the field is still quite competitive. Only a few contestants got eliminated in my pool so On to Week 8!

I'm looking at the Dallas Cowboys (a popular pick this week for sure and rightly so, Josh McCown and the Cards have made progress as of late but they are still way too inconsistent)

The champs, New England is also worth a look on the Sunday nighter. Buffalo hasn't impressed me at all so far and this might be the week to take the Champs since their schedule will get tough again with Indy on the dial next week

Another candidate is the Detroit Lions...Jeff Garcia has seemed to calm things down a bit and the D is lights out now. Kyle Orton is well still Kyle Orton

Thoughts and comments are always appreciated fellas and surviving we shall!

I do like dallas... you know parcells will be busting them hard all week after sunday. I would stay away from detroit. They still cannot score and there are some better teams out there.

I do think with as many big spreads that are out there this week, we could see an upset or two... the key is to find out which ones look like traps. I think a lot of people will be on Pitt, as I said earlier, I stay away from MNF

Im pool I am taking panthers this week, as this is one of the best positions you will gety to pick panthers, the only one close to this is against NY jets two weeks from now.
I have used up dallas otherwise that could have been my choice. im saving pitt for later weeks

I agree, I like Cincy and Carolina this week. TB scares me because of their QB situation. I kinda of like Pitt, but I try to stay away from MNF

At this point, you need to start looking down the road. these pools are just like poker. At first, do what you have to in order to survive, then start playing a little more tactical.

If you look at next week, the only game that really sticks out is Houston at Jax. I have a feeling a lot of people drop this week

In two weeks there are a couple of games
Detroit over Zona
Chicago over SF
Pitt over Cleveland

I was thinking about using NE or Dallas this week, but in a few weeks, NE has NO at home and Dallas has Det at home

I think I'm going with NE. I've mapped my teams out from here to Week 17 and this looks like a good spot for the Pats. Just can't see them losing at home to Buffalo.

Dallas looks good for those who haven't used them.

I''ll be on the Cowboys for Week 8 fellas

This week nothwithstanding, i only see 1 more *winnable* game for the 'Boys on Thanksgiving against the Lions so i guess i might as well take the D now and forget about it for the rest of the season, as is the case with Washington last week.

The other big faves this week like N.E., Carolina, Tampa and Pitt can wait another week :)

Good luck to all and Surviving we shall!

Time for another edition of our Survivor Pools fellas. Dallas took care of the Cards quite handily. Tampa Bay loss cleaned out 25% of my pool, was really hoping for the Bills and Ravens to pull something out but i guess it wasn't meant to be.

Pool is now down to 90 from original 435 so it's still very competitive fellas!

On to Week 9

A tough week to pick a S/U winners would be an understatement. Traditionally, i don't normally take road teams in a survivor contest but with a lot of home dogs this week, i might have to do just that

A few jumps right out:

Jacksonville at home: The only thing that scared me is Jack is a real Jekyll and Hyde team, playing up and down to the level of competitions. Didn't they lose to the Texans last year ?

Giants on the road: G-men is definitely on a roll right now

Bears on the road or not: Got a feeling Saints is closing shop for the season and they don't give a damn anymore

Thoughts fellas ?

Good luck as always and Surviving we shall!

Jax has had three home games so far.

Seattle 5-2
Denver 6-2
Cincy 6-2

They have won 2 of 3. After losing last week they should be focused enough to beat Houston.

Jax or the Giants for me, I rarely pick a road team no matter how much there favored by, but the Giants look tempting this week.I will probobly play Jax though, stick to my guns. I've mapped out the rest of the season and have some very good teams left and they should be heavy HOME favorites. We started with 60 and we are down to 7  with a very attractive winner take all prize.

started with 712 down to 141 thanks to SF... would have been down to 60 if Pitt would have lost, and 21 if NE would have lost...

I think everyone will be on the Jags and G-man. Doesn't look good for many other teams...

Here are some quick looks
I like KC this week... Oakland is not that good, they have won 2 games in a row, but that was against tenn and buffalo, not exactly quality teams. KC has played the top teams fairly tough

Detroit looks enticing... no culpepper and the vikes are falling apart. Detroit gets some receivers back which should help. Their defense has been solid this year, but the offense is the scary part

I don't like chicago only because I don't like expecting teams to win 2 games in a row on the road.

Falcons/Indy may have a hard time winning... Dome teams outside never fair well. I would not go against these team, but I would not be surprised to see either of them lose.

I like GB at home. BIG win for Pitt on MNF against a divisional opponent in a close game... all signs point to a letdown. I think Favre is done, but he wants his final few home games to be memorable

After all is said and done, I have 2 picks, I will probably end up taking NYG and Jax... I am tempted to take Jax in both and just pray for no miracles

Still alive myself...barely with NE last week. Jax is likely going to be my play although I have a feeling almost the whole pool will be on them. I'd love to take someone else but can Houston really beat them?? I doubt it so I'll probably just play it safe.

I have now narrowed my choices to either the G-men or the Jaguars for this Week #9 Survivor contest

Was contemplating Chicago and San Diego but at this stage of the game, i guess we'd better be safe than sorry

Here's hoping lightning doesn't strike twice with the S.F. 2 weeks in a row and also hoping the Jekyll 'n Hyde team known as the Jaguars will come to play!

if you are still in a survivor pool, let's hear what ye gotta say and pick!

Good luck fellas and Surviving we shall!

Our pool is down to 66. Took Jac earlier so going with the GMen. Can't see SF finding lighting in a bottle 2 weeks in a row. Had an easy winner last week with Dal so hoping for another easy winner again this week.

Week 9 ... Jacksonville Jaguars

This is a tough week in general and I already used the Giants who are probably going to be the other popular pick.

Bumping this baby up for another Survivor edition :)

On to week 10 fellas after the G-men took care of business on the West Coast. I was really hoping for the Texans, Jets or even Raiders to do something substantial but again the doggies this year have more bark than bite :( Only 1 person was eliminated and our pool now stands at 94. Still way too competitive :((

I have 4 potential candidates for Week 10

Chicago (Not 100% confident in Kyle Orton and Co. but S.F. is just baad and the Bears is running away with that awful division)

Pitt (Would like to save the Steelers for Week 17 when they host Detroit. I know i shouldn't be looking too far ahead but i got a feeling this year's pool is going down to the wire fellas!)

Carolina (Jets is in big-time disarray. Not sure if Brooks Bollinger can solve Jets' woes but this could be a let-down game for the Panthers ?)

Atlanta (Green Bay and Favre is done and done IMHO. But Week 14 does look enticing with Atlanta hosting the Saints)

Please feel free to chime in with your thoughts and picks!

GL as always fellas and Surviving we shall!

I agree with your thoughts canabiz. I took the gmen and jags last week (I have 2 picks in the pool remaining).

I don;t like teams that have been on a great run lately... Bears, Pathers, Giants to me all these teams are due for a letdown game. I am also hesitant the other way, GB is due for a win

Jacksonville looks enticing again this week, right now I would rank them like this

Chicago (because they are at home)
Atlanta (farve is not good in doors)
Panthers (scared because JETS have looked semi decent with Bollinger in the game, although they have been behind so the defense is different
Giants - I think Minn is better with Johnson, but still not that good. Gmen know they can win this divsion, especially with no TO
J-ville - fred taylor injury scares me
