seems like a good play, who do the panthers play the week after? is it a possible look ahead.

i think the bears are a mirage, beating up on the weak teams in their division (and padding their defensive stats i might add)

Be very careful fairy dust. I have been a huge Bears fan my entire life and have a good gage for how good this team is. The offense if pretty poor, but in my opinion they have the best defense in the entire NFL. They are 3rd in total yards 2nd in total points and have top be top 5 in turnovers. They are 5-3 but really should be 7-1. They lost by 2 at Washington in thier 1st game and they were in fg position late in the game on 1st down only to get 3 consecutive false start penalties to move them into a must pass situation. Then they got sacked for a loss of 13 and never got back into fg range. Without those penalties they win that game. Then the loss to Cleveland. This was their worst loss of the season. They had controlled the entire game, then missed a fg, then a fumble in thier own territory late lead to a big TD for the Browns followed up with another Bears turnover and a subsequent big passing TD for the Browns. Plain and simple, the Bears offense turning the ball over in that game cost them.

Now I feel that Carolina is a very good team. Im not sure who will win the game but I guaruntee you, it will be very close. Carolina should not have won on the road in Detroit, but they did pull it off. The Bears won at Detroit and killed the Lions at Soldiers Field.

With that being said. I really cant see that Bears defense ever allowing an opponent to run away with a game. As long as Orton keeps his turnovers down to 2 or less, they will be in every game. Good luck with your play, but I wouldnt expect a blow out if I were you.

fab,
by the numbers, the bears d is very good, no doubt, but they are compiling these stats against some of the worst teams in the league.

And Carolina has played a brutal schedule?

Carolina's opps. rec- 23-42
Chicago's opps. rec- 28-38

Common Opponents
Saints 23 @ Carolina 20 -L
Carolina 21 at Detroit 20- W
Minny 13 at Carolina 38- W

Detroit 6 @ Chicago 38- W
Minny 3 @ Chicago 28- W
Chicago 19 @ Detroit 13- W
Chicago 20 @ Saints 17- W

Bears D is not a mirage and will only get better as the O gets better and can sustain drives

Couldnt agree more Dice. The Bears defense its ranked as high as it is and there have been multiple games where the offense has turned the ball over 4 or more times. Many of which were in the opponents redzone. If there was a stat for the most possessions a defense has had, I bet the Bears would have the most. The offense has turned the ball over a shitload of times and when they dont turn it over they go 3 and out very often thus leading the defense right back on the field. This wears a defense down late in the game and that is when the Bears D have given up some points. Once Orton matures and secures the ball better this defense will be dominating (even though it pretty much is now)

you have a point, BUT....carolina has the advantage at QB, the most important player on the field.

So. Cal
sure car has an adv at qb....but dellhome is not playing orton, he's playing the bears defnese and jake has a tendency to throw a few picks.

i'd expect a few vs the bears.....

the game will be close and should expose or legitimize the bears.....think it legitimizes them

16-13 bears

A lot of it depends on how the Bears come off their week 10 tie to the 49ers. Who would of thought an NFL game could end 0-0??

These GREAT bears will be lucky to beat SF. Let alone carolina next week.

Oh yeah, did I mention Jones is gone, and Benson was just carted off the field with what looked like a bad knee injury.

Looks like Jones is expected to play. Peppers will be looking to make him regret that decision. Should be a great defensive battle, but unless Chicago scores on ST or D they won't win this game.
