So. Miss (-17) over Ark st
Lets start off by saying normally the dogs are the killer before the new year but lets see how this goes. Southern Mississippi had 9 players selected to the All-Conference USA team. Ark st has not seen nearly the talent So. Miss has and the Indians took a beating to Army, before letting a terrible NT team hang 24 on them. The Indians have showed lack of offense and a poor defense. They are in this game for winning he sun belt which is normally an OK division but lacked luster this season. So.Miss is an average team with the fire power to score a big number, problem is they rarely finish games. The Golden Eagles running game produced only 104 rushing yards per game, 11th in C-USA TERRIBLE (Arkansas State's defense hasn't done much better against the run, allowing 186 rushing yards per game). But they have a good QB in Dustin Almond that can pick up the slack. The overall statistics say Southern allowed only 23 ppg, 2nd in C-USA, but the Golden Eagles struggled down the stretch, allowing 228.6 yards rushing YPG in the final 5 games (Indians average 200 yards a game rushing). So. Miss should stack the box, if they eliminate Warren they take away the ASU game plan completely. The So Miss 31 takeaways, 2nd in the conference, will be huge for them. The key against Southern Miss will be if Arkansas State's DB's can contain the Eagles receivers. ASU plays a lot of man-to-man defense, which at times has proven costly and should be a problem considering Almond and the better So. Miss WRs. Also this is like a home game for So. Miss with the game being held within short driving distance from the school. Friends and family will make the trip and So. Miss should move on this team all night. So.Miss one concern in this play is their over confidence, if they get up on a team they normally ease off the gas but being a bowl game with a lot of players playing their last the Eagles shouldn't play soft.

Should have some Quarter plays for this match up as well

Cheers

So.Miss (-3.5) over Ark st 1st quarter

Look for a play on Ark st in the 4th when typically So.Miss struggles.
If you excuse me I have some pints with my name on them.

Utep (+3) over Toledo
The miners are the far better team but theys have been killed by turnovers. Palmers inability to have a complete game is scary in this play. Toledo has a solid offense and a great leader to the rockets. They have the ability to run and throw, this hurts because Uteps defense is not good. Still the speed of Utep might be a problem, the miners do a good job of running screens. This is togh for the rocket defense that will blitz to get Palmer into pressure. I like Price game planning with extra time. I have only one question which is can Utep finish drives, they have the ability and need to be mistake free. I think this will be a good game with the minners having a shot to win outright. Don't think the toledo CB's can stay with Uteps WR's. I think Ebell should have a big game getting to the second level. Palmer should step up his game and look to start the game strong.

The so.miss game was just disturbing. Knowing the eagles normally score on their opening drive and to have them fumble on their first 2 possesion just is a killer. Thanks for the wishes guys....seasons greeting to you all. T4W always an extra pint ready.

Should have a quarter play...

Navy (-3) over Colorado St
This play is based soley on the complete uneffectiveness of Colorado st defense to stop the run even with 10 men in the box. Navy should be able to run all over the rams. The rams have a solid QB with a pro style arm, the rams also have a good RB and WR's. These two teams have the ability to move the ball but the Navy defense should step up to limit the rams production. Also there should be about 22000 Navy fans in stadium with the shipyard in the local area. Still going with the top 102ushing attack against the 104th defense in NCAA.

Also
NAVY/COLO ST UNDER (61)
teams take long drives to score and the running game of navy should grind the clock.

BYU (+8.5) over Cal

BYU and cal are both offensive teams. One a passer the other a true smash runner. BYU is a very good passing team with a good offensive scheme. Beck finished the season 5th in the nation with 3,357 passing yards, 93 fewer than 2004 Heisman Trophy winner and 2005 finalist Matt Leinart from USC. Beck's 138.1 rating includes a 64.3-percent completion rate and 24 td's.The Cougars have six receivers with more than 200 yards. HOWEVER BYU is 5-1 when junior running back Curtis Brown has rushed for at least 100 yards. The Cougars pride themselves on stopping the run. But they are susceptible to the pass, as their pass defense is ranked 105th in the ncaa. Cal is solid against the run but have problems with the deep ball and thats where BYU has to hit them. Beat them deep the runthe ball when the box is not packed with Bears.

Cal coming of 4 loses out of their last 6 games mostly struggled with passing teams. Cal attack is sophomore RB Marshawn Lynch, who ran for 1,052 yards and seven touchdowns, averaging 6.1 yards per carry he leads the the nation's 10th-ranked rushing attack. BYU will NOT be able to stop the run. They will be luck to slow it down, but Cal is average at best throwing the ball and considering that is the weakness of BYU it will be tough for Cal to move the ball through the air. Cal does have a GREAT o-line that should have no problem opening up holes but the defense BYU plays might be something that causes lineman problems. The cougers rely on speed not size and should be able to limit big plays running.

Cal had its issues against Texas Tech in last year's Holiday Bowl, getting burned for 520 passing yards, and BYU offensive coordinator Robert Anae just happened to be an assistant on that Red Raiders team now head coach for BYU. This is the first Las Vegas Bowl to sellout, with many BYU fans making the 340-mile trek from Provo, Utah to fill the 40,000-seat Sam Boyd Stadium.

Call me Crazy but I could even see the stormin Mormons pulling off the upset. But I'll take the TD and the passing game in this contest, should be an offensive explosion.

Cheers
