It was an ESPN sportscenter where they showed Chizik coaching his team in bowl practice. They then went to closeup interview (studio) and that is when Chizik said that satatement. It was NOT a press conf. piece. It was an ESPN SPORTSCENTER piece. 3 seconds heard it too.
Listen to the press conference and then feel free to spin away.

If that is the case then I do indeed apologize but I have yet to see any such nonsense nor have I been able to find any reference to it except here.

NOT A PRESS CONF. WHERE CHIZIK SAID IT.

Jugde,

I must testify here under oath that I did hear those comments come from WC. He stated what a problem the 2 backs could be, but then he did say that as they wrapped up the segment, to me it sounded as if they cut the rest of the statement, but WC did say that. Caught me a little off guard as well.

From a Fellow Diehard SC fan>>>>

From a Fellow Diehard SC fan>>>>

I also have some pretty good coin on this game and probably not to the level of you but serious enough to take notice.

Here are the bets I have made to this point:

USC to go undefeated RS +120 Win 3000 to win 3600
USC to win NC +200 Undecided
1500 to win 3000

What I plan on doing from here is taking the points for 1/3 of my original bet winnings, 0r $1200, and put it on TX at +7.5. What I have done is insure that I am guaranteed a victory and if for some odd reason that SC wins and does not cover then I win all the bets.

It took me a while to get to this conclusion but when I TOOK MY HEART OUT OF THE GAME, then I REALIZED THAT GAMBLING IS ABOUT MONETARY GAINS AND LOSSES. Nothing else matters when gambling.

Remember I am a fellow Trojan. I love the Trojans and live and die by them.

I think that SC will win by 2 scores but money in hand is better than sitting with the assertion or pride and nothing to show for it.

Congrats on your analysis and great seasond so far.

a better USC team last year went into Fed ex field and shouldve got knocked off by VT. Texas a better team than VT was last year.

hate to rain on your parade, and i really applaud all of your insight- but tonights game is eerily reminiscent of OSU/Miami. I see the horns pullin it off.

However, OU looked like they never seen a powerback in Big 12 play when White came onto the field (with a bum ankle).

Now Now, maybe OU didnt prepare or maybe they underestimated White, which wont happen this year, but Cedric Benson was every bit the power back White is & then some for his 4 years @ UT.

The one thing the current Big 12 schools have always produced is great RBs. I realize this has nothing to do with this game, but the list includes Ricky Williams & Priest Holmes just to name 2 from UT.

why is this so hard to believe.....do you think im making this up????

it wasnt a press conf
it wasnt in studio

it looked like it may have been after a practice or at yest photo shoot.......

again,.....they dont get it.....scott is right, they big 12 thinks that sc hasnt seen a defense like "theirs" and all they need to do is play the same defense and sc will crumble.......add to this the fact that texas THINKS they have seen offenses like sc's before???? WHAT A JOKE

the only other offense point wise like sc, is texas.....and that offense is TOTALLY DIFFERENT than sc's from a personnel and sceme standpoint.

USC's offensive and defensive Numbers are both skewed by the conference they play in. Terrible defenses all around- great offenses. They do not post the numbers they did in the Big 12 or Big 10.

You cant really believe that can you? Come on now that is just plain ignorant to think that is the approach UT is bringing into this game.

Just play our game & USC will crumble :mj07:

yeah....now way anybody scores 50 pts a game in the big 12

:mj07:

wait.....didnt texas???

here we go again....downgrade the pac-10......as scott pointed out....when sc plays bcs teams outside the pac-10 their offensive numbers are generally greater and the scores are by a wider margin and their defense is significantly better......the pac-10 sucks.

I agree. USC offense is being slightly overrated and their defense is being underrated.

I think this is why the under has been hit a few points already. Unless it goes 3 OTs, I dont see either team hitting 50 here and this game can easily go under the number.

USC is going to see a better defense than they probably have all year and Texas is going to see a better offense than they have all year.

USC's healthy defense will keep Texas' high powered offense in check as well.

WRONG!

That USC team was starting a BRAND NEW OL, BRAND NEW WR CORPS, 2nd string TE, BRAND NEW FB, and RB's making first career start in backfield. 1st game on road across country against a great team like V-Tech who is well coached?

GIVE ME A FAWKING BREAK! USC was very fortunate to win that game and give USC props to schedule that despite all that inexperience. USC is not afraid to play anybody anywhere.

People fail to realize is USC gets better as season progresses. Last 2 USC NC teams were average 1h season and dominant 2h. Those 2 teams were in rebuilding years at offense. This year USC is in rebuilding year on defense. Especially after the injuries.

All those freshman/or 1st year starters on USC D this year are now better then they were months ago. People need to factor that in. USC plays a ton of frosh during regular season. Every year. Thats why recruits come to USC. They play.

I agree! I had Miami ML off 3 team ML parlay. I just threw in Miami ML because it meant an extra $500. I did it with USC ML that year and Oklahoma St. ML. I didn't hedge and obviously lost. :( USC is 10x better coached team than Miami. Coker is not a great HC.

Early morning :weed: for ya?? I hear they have some great stuff out there in Zona!

No point longer debating you if you really believe UT thinks USC is just your average Big 12 offense. That is so freakin dumb. :mj07:

Yep Baylor & USC same type of O, that is exactly what WC is thinking. I hope USC thinks that is UT's approach as well. :mj14:

ND being COMPLETELY OUTCLASSED by OHio ST, and USC opponents this year don't look like much.

Problem is, ND/USC is a RIVALRY game. Just because the 2 schools arent in the same state or next to each other, it is one of the most storied and traditional rivalries in college football. DONT LET THE FACT THAT ND PLAYED USC WELL SKEW YOUR VIEW OF USC!

South Bend is still one of the toughest places to play in college football, and in rivalry games the favored team is ALWAYS lucky to escape with a win, especially on the road. Your statements attempt to discredit anything ND did this year, and then criticize USC for almost losing to a garbage team? Way off base sir, way off base. If you ever attended a college football game and understood what a rivalry is you would get the picture

ND/USC is like OSU/Michigan, or Florida/FSU. Nobody would criticize OSU for only beating Michigan by 4 this year AT Michigan would they? Nope. Same reason you cant criticize USC for almost losing at South Bend

the side seems pretty simple to me....way too much talent on the offensive side of the ball for USC, NFL prospects at every position, outside of the nfl, there is no offense run with that kind of efficiency...usc will make VY match usc score for score...which I don't think he can do....
