The stats Texas and the media doesn't want you to see! :scared

Texas fans think they have the best rush offense in the country. :yup

Here are the real stats!

Texas has had 85 more rushes this year than USC. Texas only has 114 more rushing yards than USC.

Texas averages 5.7 yards a carry.
USC averages an AMAZING 6.5 yards a carry, tops in the country.

Texas fans like to think they have the most balanced offense in the country.

Texas is ranked 41st in the country in pass offense. USC is ranked 5th. USC has faced 7 teams with better pass offenses than Texas.

Now for the defense:

Texas has faced 2 pass offenses ranked in the top 40.
USC has faced 7 pass offenses ranked in the top 25.

Texas has faced 4 rush offenses ranked in the top 25. Two of those are La Lafayette and Rice.

USC has faced 3 rush offenses ranked in the top 25.

Texas fans like to mention the fact that they have one of the best D-lines and defenses in the country.

Texas is ranked 30th in the country in stopping the run.
USC is ranked 24th in the country in stopping the run.

Texas is ranked 44th in the country in sacks.
USC is ranked 35th in the country in sacks.

Texas fans like to mention the fact that their secondary is one of the best in the country.

Texas is ranked 72nd in the country in interceptions.
USC is ranked 3rd in the country in interceptions.

Texas fans like to mention how hard their defense hits and how physical they are.

Texas is ranked 25th in the country in turnovers caused.
USC is ranked 1st in the country in turnovers caused.

I see through the BULL$HIT the CFB gurus have been shoveling regarding this GREAT(?) Texas FB team.

Texas defense has played NO balanced Offense comparable to USC this season, USC can run and pass, so Texas WILL take both of those strengths away from USC? :nooo: DOUBT IT! Okie st/A & M ran for almost 500 yards on that Texas great defense, incredible.

Texas offense faced a bunch of mediocre defenses(I don't want to hear the stat crap on big 12 defenses, look at their opponents, and especially the inept offenses they faced.

VY best ability is that he scrambles until a WR breaks open behind defenses (Any WR will get open in TIME), but as we all know, Pete Carroll will put pressure on VY, and make him make his usual mistakes (5 against OSU) which will lead to USC points (TO ratio factor is BIG IMO). Make VY throw, and this game SHOULD be won by USC!

I really can't wait to see IF texas tries and load up the box to stop the run, and make ML beat them. That should be comical, as ML will audible time and again to pass to receivers covered one on one...

YOU WANT MORE GREAT STATS?

Everyone talks about Texas being so great on D.

2004 OU D allowed 280 YPG, and 13.7 ppg
2005 UT D allowes 280 YPG, and 14.6 ppg

On deeper analysis:

2004 OU Rushing D 31.2 rpg/2.8 ypc ave./86.4 YPG rushing
2005 UT Rushing D 35.0 rpg/3.5 ypc ave./124.7 YPG rushing

2004 OU Passing D 31.3 apg/17.1 cpg/54.7%/193.8 ypg passing
2005 UT Passing D 32.9 apg/16.2 cpg/49.1%/155.9 ypg passing

Texas YPG given up is like 125, compared to OU's last year, which was like 85.

Texas pass D is a little better, but then, who did they play who could pass but TT?

Texas D this year gives up an average of 280 ypg. And guess what OU gave up last year? You guessed it, 280 ypg.

Then, consider, when they are blowing out the competition, the competition will try to pass a lot more to catch up. But that they are playing NON passing teams, like Colorado, Nebraska, KSt, Louisiana Lafayette (hahaha, I had to put that one in there!) makes even their pass D look good.

On TV, the Internet, the papers?etc. they all quote the NCAA statistics like it represents who has the better team offensively or defensively. Let me open your eyes. Stats don?t always tell you everything. Look harder to find the truth! A teams pass D ranking can be bogus. Last year USC had poor ranked pass D. Phil Steele ranked USC?s pass D #1. He factors in the strength of opposing passing attacks!!! Crazy thought I know! So even though this year USC is something like #77 in pass D and Texas is something like #7?.once you factor in that USC has played something like 4 of the top 6 passing offenses in the NATION. Who is better prepared for the pass?

The most important stats!

USC has faced 8 offenses ranked in the top 31.
Texas has faced 3 offenses ranked in the top 35.

USC has faced 7 pass offenses ranked in the top 25.
Texas has faced 2 pass offenses ranked in the top 40.

USC has played 5 teams this year with 8 or more wins.
Texas has played 2 teams this year with 8 or more wins.

Ohio State is the best team Texas has faced all year. Texas put up 19 first downs and 382 total yards against OSU.

In comparison, Michigan St. put up 27 first downs and 456 yards against Ohio St. Minny put up 23 first downs and 578 yards against Ohio St.

:toast:

USC 45
Texas 27

OH SO WRONG MY MAN!

GUESS the HORNS didnt "PISS THEIR PANTS" AFTER ALL!!!

All you Texas backers should check this play out. I dont think USC's dynasty ends in Texas blowing them out, if UT pulls it out its probably by 3 points or less. My book has a prop bet, for margin of victory,

Texas wins by 1-3 points. Save your +200 money line bets because this pays 8 to 1! I'm not playing it but if I thought texas would win, that would be my play!

HERE IT IS! God why dont I take my OWN ADVICE???????????????????

Gee, that's real classy. I seem to remember you were in hiding after USC won it last year.

A GREAT game tonite. USC up 12, but Texas proves it has the heart of a champion.

Scott may be a homer (and an annoying one at that ), but just let it go, okay?

Between The Hedges
Got a feeling we hear about a huge hedge when scotty returns. For his sake I hope he did, but regardless if he did or not I am sure we will hear he did.

I have been defending UT from Scotts attack for over 8 weeks now.

If you think I am just going to sit back & say nothing you are dead wrong. Scott did nothing but slam UT all year for being FRAUDS & playing nobody & how USC will OWN them & show them things they've never seen, how they will piss thier pants....blah blah blah & I saw about 100 of these from Scott about UT. :mj07:

Now how has the last & the sweetest :mj07: :mj07:

I was thinking the same thing. There is no doubt he will claim a massive hedge. Only a complete moron would not hedge to begin with, when he was guaranteed over 20K by laying 22K on the Texas ML @ +190.

Ego is a scary thing. It cost Scott4USC $22K, and it cost USC the Nat'l Title when Carrol decided against punting with 2:00 remaining.

I agree 100 percent with the 4th down call bvy Carroll. They get it and game is over. They certainly were not going to stop TX even if they punted and TX had to move an extra 30 yards

One thing I haven't heard a whole lot about from people is Mack Brown vs. Pete Carroll. Scott touched on it of course, but people keep comparing stats and then giving there pick.

When it comes to coaching, this ain't much of a contest. People gotta be picking Texas using stats.

After watching tonite's game you are absolutely right...only a totallly outmatched coach would:

1. QB sneak on 4th and 1 with that backfield;
2. Leave Bush on the bench for a critical 4th and 2 play:
3. Burn his last TO before a 2 point conversion

Carroll was horrible tonight...

"I think it will go something like this, I caught a look at VY eye and i thought to myself he is not going to be stopped no matter how good USC is.

So there i was in the stands looking into VY eyes and I called my booky and put 45k on Texas ml second half. "

Except it will prolly be five pages long.
