There, I said it for the last time. Who have they beat? Seriously. They knocked off the Giants at home by 3 and the Colts backups at home. So who else have they beaten? They have the 16 ranked Defense in the league and play in the worst conference in recent memory in the NFL. CARDS, NINERS and LAMBS????? Are you F-ing kidding me? I don't care how far the Skins had to travel this team is very similar to last years Jets team that gave Pitt all they could handle and that team went from NYJ all the way to SD and then all the way back to Pittsburgh and still almost won. Plus that Jets team had a solid Defense and Santana Moss--a combo that will always give you a chance to win. Gibbs will have the troops ready. And remember he has to backs to throw at them in Portis and Betts. Portis did not even have that many carries last week. Plus that guy Cooley is a matchup nightmare. Good luck Seattle, the biggest pretender on the board in my opinion and the worst number 1 seed I can remember.

I was at the Skins-Hawks and Hawks should've won. Brown missed a field goal right at the end of regulation if im not mistaken. Seahawks are 15-1 also i believe at home over the past 2 reg seasons. As a Giants fan I remember all the crowd noise that caused Petitgout to lose his mind and have 3 false starts in 1 series. I agree Seattle's record is a little inflated b/c of there 6 div games, but imo they're better then the Redskins. Portis is banged up and only had 16 touches or so (Betts had 10) and Brunell's knee is hurting more then they are letting on

The lowly Bills powdered the Seahawks on their home turf last season something like 33-9.

So Cal
Its really hard to get enthused after Was offensive debacle vs TB. You could say they were really lucky to win.

Also...Sea's offense is ranked #2.....Was #19. Also Sea's sack total of 49 was 2nd only to Pit's 51. Another really important point.....only Pit allows fewer yards per rush....Pit 3.44 Sea 3.59 (tied with Car). Was total is over 4.

Lastly its tough evaluating the merit of a teams won loss record, strength of schedule, etc. Fact is....they beat all 8 teams that came to their house.

seahawks huge offensive line will pound a worn out washington team that has been in desperation mode for a month. Seahawks are rested and ready to defend their soggy home turf this weekend.
Who the seahawks played or didn't play during the season is completely irrelevant to this game. Beware capping playoff games on based on regular season, skins are still happy they won last week while seattle is chompin at the bit ready for a revenge ass-whompin on a banged up & exhausted skins squad. I'll be surprised if it goes down any other way. Seattle line play( on boths sides) will makes the difference in this one.

hawks won't win. seahawks had the easiest schedule in the NFL. skins had the 2nd toughest behind only san diego. skins beat tough opponents hawks beat rams, cards, and 49ers (what a tough division 3 teams that completely self destructed 6 of 13 wins against complete scrubs). hawks haven't played a meaningful game against an even average team for weeks since 11/27 against an average giants team they barely beat. hawks are soft and will be exposed by great skins defense. also hawks crappy defense will allow portis to beat them in a close game.

also when you have a cream puff schedule like they do you're going to have a good home record from playing so many terrible teams. they lost to jacksonville a very average AFC team, played houston, tennessee almost lost, and a resting indy team and played all the worst NFC teams.
SEATTLE'S SCHEDULE THIS YEAR MUST BE ONE OF THE EASIEST IN THE LAST 20 YEARS.

cowboys and giants were the only teams over .500 they beat throwing out indy rest game. lost to the other 2 over .500 skins and jags. so they were 2-2 against teams over .500 in a 16 game schedule. color me unimpressed.

skins played 2nd toughest schedule in the NFL seattle played the easiest and padded their stats. seattle's games against terrible teams go like this:
arizona 37-12
st. louis 37-31
houston 42-10
arizona 33-19
st. louis 31-16
SAN FRAN 27-25 almost went to OT missed by failed 2point
philly sans mcnabb 42-0
san fran 41-3
indy resting 28-13

all the other games they either lost or won by less than 5:
jax lost by 12, 14-26
atlanta won by 3, 21-18
was lost by 3, 17-20
dallas won by 3, 13-10
ny giants won by 3, 24-21
tennesse won by 4, 28-24
gb lost by 6, 17-23 resting doesn't count

all seattle stats are flawed by playing their NFC west brothers 6 games and a slew of other terrible teams philly, houson, tennessee. if they didn't lead the league in some stats it would be a crime since they played the easiest schedule of any team in the last 20 years. shaun's mvp is a total lie way to run up stats against the worst of the worst you truly are most overvalued player.

Sexlexia...
It's the D (ortotal lack of it) in that list which is surprising/funny...important! :D

Out of the bottom 7 teams for points allowed, Seattle played them NINE TIMES!
In the remaining 7 games they scored;
14 @ Jax
21 @ Atl (hardly a defensive brick wall either!!...11th most yards allowed)
17 @ Wash
13 v. Dallas
24 v. Giants (9th most yards allowed!)

& 28 v. Indi, 17 @ GB in the 2 'meaningless' games.

Plenty of running both ways...I think you might have talked me into the under here guys! :toast:

(PS...I feel that Indi fits into the same catagory ;))

all their stats are lies from playing in the NFC west worst division of all time.
the giants had 8-1 at home and we saw how long that lasted in the playoffs.
skins played a very good tampa bay defense last week much much better than this crappy seahawks defense. if you can't sack the QB's of terrible teams, which they played a lot of, who can you sack?

BigPink, you are all over this!!!
If the Redskins had played Seattle's schedule, the Skins would be playing at home the entire playoffs . . .and Portis might be the MVP.
Anyone can beat the snot out of peeps. Let's see how the Seahawks do against a real defense. Even one that's tired, bruised, worn out, and hanging on by a hang nail. And, I almost forgot, one that has to travel across the country. :mj07:

Oh this is LAST SEASON? Why bother playing the games then, lets just give the Pats their rings!

:mj07:

Take a look at Philly and Atlanta. One season is ALL the difference sometimes.

It is going to be apparent after about 5 minutes of play that Seattle has its hands full.

I don't get it... they were 2nd in the NFL in sacks. They sacked QBs of bad teams and good teams alike. I agree that their overall defense isn't too great, but they have a pretty good D-line. Bryce Fisher was better than expected, Marcus Tubbs showed a ton of improvement from his rookie season, Rocky Bernard had an AWESOME year, and Grant Wistrom... well, ok, Grant took the year off. But it's their secondary that is the problem, definitely not the line.

FWIW... it's going to rain like a bastard here on Saturday. There are supposed to be rainshowers throughout the game. Just thought I would pass that on...

The Seattle home field advantage is huge the Giants had numerous offensive penalties. The way the stadium is configurated makes it just like a domed stadium. Brunell is not playing that well. Skins injuries are going to get the best of them. Very physical game last week. 3rd road game in a row. The Seattle offensive line can handle the Redskins def line. The first game Seattle had 379 yards of offense. I've had the Redskins the last three weeks. This is the time to get off the band wagon. If Seattle gets off quickly and forces Washington to throw the ball they are in deep shit. Good luck on your plays this weekend just don't think this is a good matchup this weekend.

Isn't it always raining in Seattle?

Yeah, and we all drink Starbucks and wear flannels. :mj07: Kidding. Seattle being a rainy city is a huge misconception. While it rains fairly frequently here, it often doesn't rain very hard. Our average rainfall is actually pretty low. If you look at a chart of all the cities in America we're about halfway down the list for annual rainfall. New York City gets more rain than we do and a lot of cities in the South get almost TWICE as much rain as we do, but we're tagged as the rainfall capital of the world for some reason. And if you haven't been to Seattle in the summertime, check it out. Perfect weather. Ok, my Chamber of Commerce post is now over...

2 of SA's 27 TDs came against teams with winning records. Washington's OL has a huge size advantage over undersized seattle front 4. If it rains it comes down to running the ball clinton is a better RB than shaun. Both have good big OL but WAS has bigger defensive front 4 and overall defense they can put 8 in the box because their secondary is good. seattle doesn't have that luxury because their secondary sucks. and playoffs means coaching gibbs just plain wins in playoffs. ****ing holmgren dropped a laugher to the rams last year for god's sake a team that beat him 3 times last year. great coaching. team beats you once it may be a fluke, twice it may be your play, three times and its your coaching not preparing you. this is the same seahawks team as last year expect similar results.

also as an univ of md alumni gotta give the props to nick novak for kicking the game winner in OT last time in week 4 when skins beat the seahags. novak leading scorer in ACC history he shall return.

No offense, but have you watched the Seahawks AT ALL this year??? There is no way on earth that they are the same team as last year. Their D-line is much better, their LBs are much better, and their offense has either been #1 or close to it all year long. I agree with you that their secondary is weak, but that really is their only glaring weakness. You mentioned that they lost to the Rams all three times last year. Well, this year they beat them both times they played them. That right there tells you they aren't the same team. I'm not trying to come off sounding harsh, I'm just amazed at how many people are acting like they're a bad team. I don't care about strength of schedule, if a team goes 13-3 and goes undefeated at home, they are a very good team.
