Look at how 6 seeds do in this round. Not to mention travelling all the way cross country.

On trends at least, Skins will be fortunate to be anywhere near in the game at the half.

Hey Glenn.....why try and save them. If they want to ignore the fact that a Pro Bowl QB will be handing the ball off to a Pro Bowl RB
who will running behind a Pro Bowl FB.....who will be blasting through a hole in the defense opened up by two Pro Bowl offensive linemen........WELL then I say let them ignore it.

But, as always.........Good luck.

No offense, but have you watched the Seahawks AT ALL this year??? There is no way on earth that they are the same team as last year. Their D-line is much better, their LBs are much better, and their offense has either been #1 or close to it all year long. I agree with you that their secondary is weak, but that really is their only glaring weakness. You mentioned that they lost to the Rams all three times last year. Well, this year they beat them both times they played them. That right there tells you they aren't the same team. I'm not trying to come off sounding harsh, I'm just amazed at how many people are acting like they're a bad team. I don't care about strength of schedule, if a team goes 13-3 and goes undefeated at home, they are a very good team.

4 games against teams over .500 homer guy come on. easiest schedule of all time. haven't beat any decent team by more than 4 not that good a team. just about any middle of the road team with a schedule as easy as seattle's this year would end up with same result.

all you homers have blinders on but you're homers so it figures. skins have a good chance to win and at the very least will cover. this is the best defense seattles played in months. SA had 2 TDs against 4 teams with winning records. do you think he's gonna have a 4TD game now. hasselbeck is overrated and has stats due to weak opposition. if i were homers like you guys i'd be pretty worried. probowlers don't mean shit. its a bunch of AP guys that just vote based on stats. SA getting the MVP was such a lie. tiki barber took his entire team on his back and dragged them into the playoffs. steve smith was the only weapon for carolina and was double covered and still got it done. SA padded his stats against the lowly NFC west and everyone was shocked when he got the rushing title (barely i might add). stupid ap writers just vote for the most TDs. manning last year SA this year. its a travesty.

strength of schedule matters when you play creampuffs and aren't ready to play real teams in playoffs see jacksonville jags about that.

i can't wait til you guys lose and SA leaves town, what will you do then? he upped his money and now he's gonna roll out to the highest bidder. he's a preening premadonna that throws tantrums when he doesn't get his way and he can't wait to jump ship.

I don't get it... they were 2nd in the NFL in sacks. They sacked QBs of bad teams and good teams alike.

What good teams did they play?

If I heard the news right, they (the Seahawks) had the easiest schedule of any of the playoff teams. . . and the second easiest of the entire league. The Skins had the 2nd toughest. That says a lot to me. Albeit, neither team controls their schedule, I think the strength of schedule tempers the amount of weight you place on stats.

This is my last post on the subject. I'm going to take my 9 points and sit back and enjoy the game.

May the best team win. :mj14:

If Seattle covers, I'll be the first one here to congratulate them and their sycophants. :mj07:

dizzy you said that seattle doesnt have the speed at WR to beat the Redskins if they shut down Alexander. Where have you been all year man?

You ever hear of a guy named D Jax? I dont know many WR's who have more speed than him.

Hassleback has been doing it all year man to different WR's. Look at the stats. Your one of those east coast biased guys aren't you

Heaven, oh!!, this isn't it?!
I love this thread. Many conflicting and different views..........

My play will be on Seattle First Half. Just feel that this Redskin game will be there, but the real adrelane wont kick in until late midway first half to counteract there 3 straight road games and last weeks TB game. Just feel more confident playing less than a TD with the revved up home team here. :s4:

GL to all! Except Skins FH :mj07:

Yeah, you know me SO well don't you. I'm a huge homer aren't I? How many times have I bet ON the Seahawks in the past two years? Once. How many times have I bet AGAINST them? Four or five times. And that's the difference between me and you. I actually handicap games and pick a side, even if it means going against my favorite team. You are clearly just a Redskins fan who wants his team to win, so automatically the other team is overrated and will lose the game outright. Yeah, Vegas has no clue right? I'm sure they always pick crappy teams as 9 point faves in the playoffs.

Hasselbeck and Alexander are both overrated huh? Yeah, of course they are. And I suppose Jones and Hutchinson are too, right? Tatupu? That guy sucks. All smoke and mirrors. Hill? What a waste of a draft pick. Oh I'm sorry, you probably don't know who I'm talking about now. You only know the Seahawks from what you see on ESPN.

FWIW I never said anything about whether the Seahawks would cover or not. Just trying to be a voice of reason. If you think the Seahawks suck, go ahead and think that. And keep handicapping games based on which teams you "like." That will get you far.

Gotta love these guys with a handful of posts who know it all. Priceless eh?

I agree, the Hawks had a weak schedule this year. Never denied that. But how many less sacks would they have had if they played a tougher schedule? 5? 6? While the weak schedule may have helped, I think the improvement/maturation of the D-line was the biggest factor. Bryce Fisher was much better than expected. Marcus Tubbs showed a ton of improvement over his rookie year. Rocky Bernard had arguably the best year of anyone on the line, and the best of his short career. Wistrom, well, he was actually the weak link. But in general, I think the D-line had a great year.

As I said before, I never said anything about the Seahawks covering or not covering. I just think people are really underestimating them with the strength of schedule thing. Just my opinion. Good luck on Saturday.

The Eagles beat up on a really weak division last year and they won thier home playoff games pretty easily so strength of schedule means very very little here. The home team has a huge advantage and the Redskins offense is pitiful at best. The Redskins won thier Superbowl last weak plus they have a player who spits in other players face which will work against them. seatle will win.

Ooops! I said I wasn't going to post any more on this subject but just had to chime in on this one.

I didn' realize that the quantity of posts equated to the quality of reasoning and intelligence. If that's the case, there's got to be a few friggin' geniuses on this site. :mj07: :mj07:

Someone help me up. :mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

Reading comprehension obviously isn't your strong point I see. That comment was directed more at the attitude of people who come in here and act like they know everything. I know it's a novel concept, but it might be wise for people with a handful of posts to show just a sliver of humility, rather than acting like they own the place and making ridiculous, inflammatory statements. But I'm sure that's a hard concept for you to grasp. You want a real :mj07: ? Good luck with your Redskins this weekend :mj07: See ya on Saturday Sparky!

For those who think that Seattle played a weak schedule this season.... keep in mind that the undefeated 72 Dolphins played a schedule that the majority of people that year considered very easy. I'm not comparing the two teams, but I wanted to put that out there.

There, I said it for the last time. Who have they beat? Seriously. They knocked off the Giants at home by 3 and the Colts backups at home. So who else have they beaten? They have the 16 ranked Defense in the league and play in the worst conference in recent memory in the NFL. CARDS, NINERS and LAMBS????? Are you F-ing kidding me? I don't care how far the Skins had to travel this team is very similar to last years Jets team that gave Pitt all they could handle and that team went from NYJ all the way to SD and then all the way back to Pittsburgh and still almost won. Plus that Jets team had a solid Defense and Santana Moss--a combo that will always give you a chance to win. Gibbs will have the troops ready. And remember he has to backs to throw at them in Portis and Betts. Portis did not even have that many carries last week. Plus that guy Cooley is a matchup nightmare. Good luck Seattle, the biggest pretender on the board in my opinion and the worst number 1 seed I can remember.

who cares who they've beaten. even if washington doubles their yards from last week it's not going to be enough. seattle will not be turning the football over more than once and washington has no answer for a healthy and hungry shaun alexander. garbage backdoor is only way wash covers.

gibbs is 5-0 all time against the seahawks. holmgren is 0-4 all time against the skins.
SA's MVP lie will be exposed by a great skins defense that will hold him to no more than 1 TD.
seahawks are choke artists and skins create turnovers. add it up seahawks playoff win drought goes on.

SA ONLY SCORED 2 OF HIS 28 TDs AGAINST TEAMS WITH WINNING RECORDS (4 games).

skins +10 and ML is the way to go. count on it.

you can go ahead and wipe w/ that ml ticket.

One team playing for their life for over a month, the other on cruise control waiting for THIS game. O Line play won't even be close here & seahawks will roll a beatup/exhausted skins team.
