I just wanted to take a second to apologize for some of my rather insensitive posts lately.
First off I love this site and look forward to surfing all the time.
Hokie Fan though has been going through some difficult times lately and the stress has been getting to me.
Maybe some of you know or if you didnt I have cancer. I have been through 35 radiation treatments and 9 months of chemo. The pain from those have been extreme. I have had all my hair and insides burnt of my right side. When I was doing chemo I lost 47 pound (25 in one week) I spent 2 weeks in the hospital and the pain was intense. It was hard on my kids and wife. Because I kept working during this process it really took a toll on my body.
All this and I thought I had licked it....
But I was wrong.... I had my follow up visit today and had been stressing it for weeks (hence my bad mood and rather insensitive posts)
It looks as if the cancer has come back strong (just had a biopsy today) also I have a blood clot in my chest which they found today.
It looks like I have to begin chemo again ..only stronger this time along with a procedure that requires them taking stem cells and marrow from my hip.
Suffice to say I am a little upset
I just wanted anyone who cared to know.
If you didnt care well, thats ok too..
Life is to short...
I apologize to anyone I have offended...
Most of you guys on this site really give me a chuckle ..
I appreciate your humor and picks...
Thanks for taking the time to read this
I will post whenever I can
Good luck to all of you

Hokie

I can only take a page from the movie Steel Magnolias where one of the friends says to the mom..... you just need to hit somebody.
I mean you need to just slap the shit out of someones ass.

So Hokie if I may be so forward.

Hit beantownjim.

Slap the dog shit out of beantownjim.

Then we will all feel better.

Hang in there. Do what you need to do.

Hello Hokie,
I am fairly new to madjack but I have read some of your posts before and this one in particular is really touching. Thank you for posting such a honest and heartfelt post. With that said, I feel that you have been through a lot in this time in your life and it is absoluty understandable that you have been somewhat "touchy" towards singnificant individuals in your life and people that post on mad.
I am confident that everyone on mad is not upset by anything that you have written in the past and that all are praying for you and wishing you the best in your new treatments. I wish I had a magic wand to make this all go away for you but I don't. All I have and others on this post have to offer you is a place where you can bitch about what is going on in your life, a few laughs, support, and our thoughts and prays for you. I feel confident that you have the inner strength and courage to make it through this!!! I wish you and your family the best and I will definately be thinking and praying for you! If you need to vent about anything feel free to email me!

Hokie, what posts are you talking about? I've never seen anything insensitive from you.

I didn't know you were going through the cancer. Sounds like you're fighting it hard, and I applaud you for that. Tough stuff, but sounds like you're a person who can beat it. I wish you well, and if you ever have any medical questions you are having trouble getting answers or if you don't think you're getting shot straight, just let me know.

Please make sure you plan to take it easy and DO NOT WORK OR DO MUCH OF ANYTHING for at least 2-3 days after your bone marrow harvest. That hurts like a mofo, and if you overdo it too soon, you'll have lots more problems. I'll be praying for you if you would like, and I hope your upcoming treatments go well.

Hokiefan,
I hope that you know that noone that has been on this forum for any period of time has anything but respect for you. I hope that your setback is exactly that and that you lick this thing. I look forward to a long and humorous cyber banter relationship with our friend Hokie Fan

Hokie, i'm also very sorry you have to go through this. My father recently went through it also. So did my childrens mother, my 1st. wife.
Take it easy and try not to stress.
Stress is tough on the body. I also don't recall any nasty posts from you. Your a great guy and I wish you all the blessings in my heart.
You just keep on fighting bro. Hooks

Sometimes life ain't so easy, hang in there kid, get my email from Jack. My computer will be down tomorrow, putting new carpets in my place.
